Marino has close cut black hair and small light blue eyes. His face is an oval shape and his slightly rounded chin is lined with stubble, that he refuses to shave. He looks extremely tired from 16 years of non-stop work. His shoulders aren't very broad, and he look rather um-imposing, standing at 5'5" and weighing a mere 66kg. He has a small birthmark on his left cheek, and a scar over his right eyebrow.

Marino is not what most people would expect in a captain. He has become incredibly jaded. Years of work had tired him out, as he has slowly become a slacker, only trying to keep his job for the pay check. However, his no-stress attitude is very popular among newer recruits, who find him a good boss that always has time to have a laugh his crew. To older crew members, however, they find him lazy and unfit to be in charge. The IOSE would fire him, if he wasn't one of their most valued crew members
