Only the cold gaze of death and it was fixed on someone. The mercenary called Nuke. He had joined the part and was heading straight for Bane. Dodged ever single goon in his way. Made a run, then a jump, but was stopped immediately when he reached his opponent. Maybe the guy had aimed for a sucker punch or hoped Bane would play along. Whatever the case Bane had been smarter, moving to the side and grabbing him by the throat. Batwoman had realized the error of her ally’s approach even before he moved. Yet when Bane raised him up, she still felt that old familiar pain of losing a buddy. There was a cracking sound, even with everything that was going on, and then there was nothing. All Batwoman's energy, all her sorrow, she turned into focus, when she approached. In that moment, she knew she could take on the whole room, all by herself, but strangely none of the gorillas made even the slightest attempt to block her path. Just ran right past her while she marched forward. The second Batwoman entered the ring they started circling each other. It was as if everything outside didn’t exist at all. All the sounds, all the racket was gone. All she heard was the sound of her own heartbeat. This would be the fight of her life, and one wrong step could be the end for her. “And who are you supposed to be, Batgirl 2.0?” Bane asked crossing his arms, which only flexed his muscles further. “Do I look like a girl to you?” “No. No, you do not. A shame we’ve never run into each other. A clear mistake on my part, but I will tell you this only once: Tonight is not a good time to challenge me.” “It going to get worse before it gets better. Besides your boy, Trogg, already told us quite a lot of embarrassing things about you. Perhaps your master plan is not as bulletproof as you might think.” It was hard to know what Bane was feeling underneath the mask, yet based on his body language that last line struck a nerve. Finally. A crack in the armor… Bane threw a punch that could very well have cracked her skull open. Yet she just moved out of reach, and succeeded in making it look easy, though nothing could be further from the truth. Batwoman followed up actually taking a step closer to the mountain of muscle, as she knew she would have to tenderize the meat a little more, before cutting it out. “Trogg confirmed to me, what everyone already knows,” she taunted. “You’re nothing without the Venom. And you know it, don’t you?” With graceful movements, she moved around in the ring fast enough to keep out of harm’s way, while Bane delivered a forward kick. He continued with, what on the outside looked like basic punches, but Batwoman could feel a powerful gust behind each swing, and still she kept going. “Without it, you wouldn’t last two seconds against me, big guy. You know that, don’t know? I’m better than you. We are all better than you. Your victories never belonged to you.” She managed to stay on the outside and dodge, roll and duck further attacks. The fury of Bane was immeasurable and the way he moved seemed out of this world. Just as she was cornered she used the ropes to spring up and make a flip above him. That’s when his speed surprised her and he grabbed her by the angle and slammed her into the ground. Hardly had she time to recover before he delivered a steady kick that left her moaning in pain. He seized her by the throat and raised her into the air while twisting her left arm, so it felt like it was going to break. “It won’t work,” Bane rather calmly said to her. “What?” “You trying to make me angry so I’ll make a mistake.” Batwoman struggled just to breath, and yet she managed to make a coherent sentence while facing him. “Oh, I’m disappointed, Bane-train. You missed how I’m tiring you out, and making you reveal your best moves to me. But… mostly… you missed this part.” And with those words she used her free hand to grab the Venom controller on his wrist and turned. Nothing happened. The handle didn’t move an inch. It was as welded together with the rest. “Hoping to give me an overdose? That won’t work. You see I learn from my mistakes, and it takes considerable more strength to operate my Venom now. Strength I have…” He squeezed her further and whispered in her ear: “… And you don’t.” With those words, he threw her from the ring, and she only just got out of the way when he smashed down where her head had been a second ago. The collision shook the ground like an earthquake from where she was lying, and she did not stay down any longer than she had to. When Bane did a haymaker, it was right into her fist holding a batarang like a knife. Though her hand was swung backwards by the enormous force, the sharp metal stayed buried halfway into his hand. She used his outcry and surprise to go in with a punch herself, but he saw it and caught it right next to his face. “Predictable and weak. It’s a shame you came here wounded. It would be a pleasure to-“ Bane was interrupted when she opened her palm and revealed a flashbang. Its immense light left him blinded and open for her to unleash some brutal punishment to his throat. Every time he felt a new blow the flashbang shined again like clockwork and made him unable to open his eyes. By the sixth punch his torment was starting to show.
