There couldn't have been more than fifteen minutes left until James would have to be out of Newnan. A small army seemed to have come to say goodbye as well, with more and more people walking through the Inner Gate and heading for the Outer Gate. He let Tatiana take his hand, finger by finger, and pull him around, before finally resting his hand on her belly. "I sure hope so, solovey," Jack replied, tears welling up in his eyes. He didn't have the best father growing up and hardly ever saw the man, a man who insisted on naming his first son after himself, Charles. "And you're already the best mothah evah," Jack then said in turn, grinning at his wife. He knew it was too soon to expect to be able to feel a kick from the baby or anything, but it was still amazing to rest his hand on his wife's belly and just know the baby was in there. The world was insane but this little part, it felt normal. It grounded him. He could only hope that it was helping Tatiana similarly. The next few hours were going to be difficult, to say the least, with James leaving Newnan. James wasn't just a friend to Tatiana--he was family. "We could name the kid aftah him, aftah James," Jack mentioned, smiling at his wife. His tone made it clear it was a suggestion, as he didn't want to be like his dad and boss Tatiana around. Hell, he'd be just as happy if the kids had Russian names that he had to struggle to pronounce--those perhaps avoiding R's would be a good idea.

Beatrice Decker

Location: Building 6 (the Armory)

Beatrice chuckled slightly at Ryan's comment, though there was a hint of a smile on her face. James, Ryan, and Tiffany were her only friends in Newnan and it looked like she'd be leaving with most of them. She doubted Tiffany would come as well and she wouldn't want her to try to anyways. She doubted she'd have the patience to be around Tiffany and her boy toy 24/7. At least in Newnan, she was able to get away from the lovey dovey couple whenever she felt the need to. Outside of the walls, wandering off wouldn't be too easy. "Poor James, stuck with the pair of us," Beatrice quipped, her tone as serious and straight as always. It was her style of humor--as dry as a desert, perhaps even more so. She headed into the armory with Jim and received her old 9mm, along with some ammo. The gun felt almost just like she remembered it in her hand, with the weight of it a bit odd to hold. But she didn't pay much attention to the near nostalgia and left the armory with Jim, tossing her gear into the back of the truck as instructed. This was likely the last time she would ever see this place, the last time she would be able to sleep with a sense of security. But knowing that Ryan would be leaving Newnan with her as well was comforting--there was strength in numbers. Maybe they'd last more than a few weeks, even. Beatrice hopped into the truck, nodding at Ryan as he held the door open for her and got herself settled. She doubted that the goodbyes with James would be quick, knowing how many people in Newnan that cared for him. After a few not so subtle reminders to speed things up, maybe people would be able to restrain themselves. "Does James know you're leaving with him?" Beatrice asked Ryan.

Chloe Ridgeway

Location: Inner Gate ---> Outer Gate

Chloe didn't need to ponder for an instant when Riley asked her if she ever wondered what happened to the rest of their family. "I hope they all died," Chloe said bitterly. "Painfully," she then added. It was no secret that the Ridgeways didn't have the best family. Their parents were Bible thumpers who fed off of hate and their brother wasn't much better. The moment she was arrested, they disowned Chloe just as they disowned Riley a few years back. They saw Chloe's addiction and Riley's sexuality as moral failings. Hell, the only other family members that Chloe didn't wish dead were some cousins she never met and Riley, of course. In many ways, she felt like the outbreak was giving her parents what was coming to them all along. But as they passed through the inner gate and continued on south towards the outer gate, Chloe tried to keep herself from thinking back on their family. It was better to focus on Amelia and Riley's conversation, about whether or not people would be leaving with James. Chloe could see some people heading with him from agriculture, but she also understood Amelia's fears of them becoming vulnerable to Eden's attacks. "New people will come and fill in the holes," Chloe said, drawing again on her experiences in prison. The head of the kitchen would get parole and yeah, the food was even shittier than normal for the next few weeks, but everything went back to normal eventually. "And we've got Irish here, he knows Eden like the back of his hand," Chloe then added. "With him around, I think we'll be pretty safe."

Ravi Chakrabarti

Location: Inner Gate ---> Outer Gate

"Thank you," Ravi replied, feeling a bit crestfallen. He hadn't considered the fact that Newnan might not be trained enough to taken down Peachtree City, though in hindsight it made sense. If they had had the strength for it, they likely would've done it by now. Ravi had just been so impressed by the settlement that he assumed they'd have the strength for it. But he didn't regret asking, however, not one bit. He loved Gavin dearly like a brother and didn't want him to do this alone. And speak of the devil, the blimey scoundrel was walking down the street not too far in front of them. Ravi nodded again at Miss Sally's words, knowing that she was right. The most Gavin would allow Ravi to do for him would be moral support. That had been his role in this friendship, aside from medical care and the likes for whenever the cowboy got injured. "You're right about that--his mouth runs like water sometimes," Ravi joked with a good natured smile. He hoped that his best mate would ask for some help, he really did. But at the same time, he wouldn't have been too surprised if he didn't. "And thank you again, Miss Sally," Ravi added, having been raised to be as polite as he was pretty (which was extremely, of course, in Ravi's mind). "I just wish there was more I could do to help him." Gavin was the closest thing to family he had left. He was all Ravi had. Everyone else he knew was long gone.
