Heidi knew they were all useless. She'd read so many of them she'd started noticing patterns, and that's when she knew it was time to stop. Besides, 'life partner', applied to Shawn, was ironic and left a bitter taste in her mouth as well as a lump in her chest. She didn't want to contemplate that at all right now. Instead she started thinking about plans. Immediately, she hit a roadblock; she didn't know all the variables. Heidi turned to the new girl. She did not yet know her name, or her mutation, and now was a good time to find out. Of course, the task of starting a conversation with a stranger wasn't the easiest thing in the world for the shy Scottish girl. "Uh, hi. I'm Heidi. You're the new girl. What's your name?" The moment she'd finished speaking to Bonny. she realised how stiff and awkward her opening sentence had come out, and cursed herself.
