That's my point tho. We have railguns [i]now[/i]. As experimental prototypes. By the time the Jura went to space, cannons had been replaced by railguns because they were, in comparison to space-age interstellar-capable tech, simple and easy to produce and use. I figure this will be the case in space. Especially since cannons fire rounds that are so comparatively slow that spaceship would be able to dodge it really easily.
