Most of you don't face the grunts for a bit. The soonest would probably be after the First, possibly second Gym. So they won't really show up much until later in the RP. So don't worry. Probably should have said that too, XD.

And for the most part, it's to actually make them a real threat. The games and such try to make the antagonist organizations seem powerful, but then they arm their grunts with the weakest Pokemon. I probably won't have them using Stage 3 Pokemon early on, but there will definitely be Stage 2 and stronger Stage 1 Pokemon.

There will be time to grow and train before you have to fight them, unless your character does something really dumb. I know it's not nice to say, but I've had guys before walk up to like the main boss and think they'd live not even a day after an RP began.
