Just to clarify, Jack had nothing to do/no knowledge of how his mother killed the queen and is completely ignorant to his other brother's death, Zachariah, though rumors spread and he has suspicion.

Zachariah is the brother that you head but was poisoned. Everything is shrouded in mystery and all that anyone can do is hypothesize.

Everyone is certain that the King died of natural causes though the ones who absolutely hate and despise the king have reason to blame him. But as far as everyone knows the previous king died of the sickness. "No one" saw Jack enter there as with the guards being loyal to Jack they have no reason to tell the truth or spread rumors.
