Update 8/13/17: Initial paragraphs modified and some new stuff added. So far interest has been had but no prospects have taken. Everything is still available. ... cracks open C:\Users\...\My Documents\RP Archives\... "What's the worst that could happen? Well I don't actually know so let's find out. These are a variety of prompts, characters, etc. of mine that never got used, got used ages ago, or otherwise have been gathering dust. I want to break a few of them back out. Below is a collection of various mini-adverts for each of the many things of mine I would love to do. I am a little bit picky as I consider myself high-casual/low advanced. I often ask people to “sell it to me” meaning that I want a little convincing you are the partner for the task. Really this is just an effort-check more than anything (in my time on Reddit I would often get vague 1-2 sentence PMs that didn’t give me much to go on). What I want from you if you want to “sell yourself to me” is a prospective intro post. It helps me gauge a prospective partner’s writing style, their ideas for how they want the RP to progress, and whether or not their character has any compatibility problems that would make for a boring experience. I am not a smut writer. This was actually a huge issue for me on Reddit since the majority of the older writers were mainly after about a 70/30 plot-smut mix. That's not my thing. Now I’ll let a romance plot get a bit steamy but at a point I cut it off and fade to black. I don't write any farther mostly because I'm not very good at it and I'm embarrassed to when the rest of my writing is actually decent, among other reasons. I will sometimes make an exception to this with partners I have good history with but since I'm still kinda new blood here, nobody is going to have that history. In regards to romance, I've denoted in the prompt just how far I'm willing to take it because it varies prompt to prompt. As a general rule, I won’t shy away from it as I make a clear distinction between romantic involvement and writing X-rated fanfic. I've also flagged whether a prompt is safe-for-work, not safe, or potentially both depending on how it's played. I consider myself an intermediate writer and I can push anywhere from 200-500 words in a decent post. My opener posts can set personal records (the largest ever capping out at 2100, averaging 800-1500). I generally dislike anything less than 50 words. It feels like my effort invested is not being reciprocated.
[SFW/NSFW] The Frontier is not your playground. Its lawless, dangerous, and no place for a young runaway. Sam Whitmore disagrees with that assessment. Sam is a hot shot, slick with a rifle, and has zero regard for mortality. Sam comes from a western themed world that optionally includes large airships/dieselpunk elements and equally optionally a physics-based fantasy magic. Sam is a flirt, a player, and a total heartbreaker. A runaway from a wealthy family and now lives as a traveler amidst the frontier. If you want to read further, this is the character sheet of one Samantha Whitmore. Surprise, Sam is a she. :) I am open to plot suggestions here. Sam sometimes leaves a trail of bodies and is also a character I go pretty far with romantically. Usually NSFW, some less 18+ rated pairings can be discussed.
[STAR WARS][SFW] The tragedy of young Lady Karra. Star Wars time! Let me introduce you to my young apprentice of the Sith. She was rescued from slavery and trained in the ways of the dark side of the Force. I've not yet gotten an opportunity to really play her. She is versatile in the different eras she can work with and what she can pair against. Plot suggestions welcome (cuz I don't have very many ready to go for her). This one I’ve passed around a bunch in other places but ran into problems with seemingly everyone being partial smut writers. That is an absolute deal-breaker with this character because in my personal favorite era for her - early Galactic Empire - she's only 17. She plays strictly platonic and often even aromantic. Shas a fairly in-depth character sheet that covers absolutely everything.
[SFW] No two Angels are alike. Its time to introduce you to Levi. Banished from heaven long ago for refusing to accept its collective apathy towards Man, he wanders the earth protecting humans from the attacks of Hell's legions. With only limited magic and a pair of hellfire-hardened arming swords, Levi stands fast to protect mankind, even when heaven has forsaken them. Levi doesn't play well into sexual romance so I prefer to play him platonic or even a father-child type relationship (he is a few hundred years old and all ...). Levi's character sheet is WIP because the original is ancient and the updated one was written for a diceroll RP, so no links. I can make it available on request or otherwise answer questions in the comments. Levi was originally designed for 14th century but I've made him work all the
[NSFW – dark themes & graphic violence] Vengeance has consumed you. Lyra Blackwell is a medieval character I've not advertised for much. She is perhaps the darkest character I've ever written. Like the title suggests, she has become consumed by her obsession with revenge and it will ultimately be her undoing. I would love for someone to come play out her rise to power and descent into madness. She explores the flip side of the evil queen trope, daring to ask the question "how does somebody end up that badly damaged?" She's also a character I am very picky about. I’ve also had it go bad before after being fooled into believing I had something special and I’m not about to let that happen again. I may have to play an extended round of 20 questions with anyone who requests this. Because of the dark, twisted, and bloody nature of how this character is expected to play out, this one will be NSFW for primarily non-sexual reasons. Lyra views romance as nothing but another tool with which people can be manipulated, so it’s unlikely any meaningful relationship can form between her and a partner character but there are a few edge case exceptions we can discuss if you really want it.
[NSFW] What did you expect from the daughter of a warlord? Natalie Cole is someone I haven't advertised for a long time and few things happened when I did. Natalie Cole is not her real name. It’s a fake alias she uses to hide in Miami, Florida illegally. The last thing anyone needed to know is that she's Natalia Maria Salazar - daughter of Dante Ramirez Salazar who is the head of the Los Reyes de Muerte cartel in Columbia. The cartel trained her to be a sniper and an assassin. She had her first high-power rifle at age 12; she killed her first mark at 14. Three years later her uncle – a cartel retiree - helped smuggle her stateside away from the life of a killer. The cartel would later find and kill him for his betrayal. The cartel later rolled up on Miami Beach shipping in guns and cocaine. With her old life knocking on her doorstep once again, she fell back on what she knew best: solving problems with a high-power rifle. I ship Natalie hard with an FBI agent working a case against the cartel. The bodies she drops are dead suspects, witnesses, and leads to the bureau, making the mystery hitman high on their priority list. But what happens when the investigation's senior special agent is sleeping with the shooter? This is another one I'm very willing to go pretty far (but I still fade black at a point), plus there's a lot of killing/dead bodies. NSFW. I am very picky with the character & plot I play Natalie with. Obviously she’s supposed to hit it off romantically with her opposite character early on and since I refuse to force that kind of thing, I am rather picky because I want to ensure character compatibility. It’s also because I’ve written a lot of story stuff for Natalie already and have a particular vision for her that I try to create. [NSFW-ish] Hunted. Years later, Natalie has fled the states to take refuge in eastern Europe. The cartel was destroyed, what was left of her family is dead, and she managed a spot on the FBI’s most wanted list. Everything is quiet and peaceful for her abroad until she’s contacted by a so-called “broker” seeking to connect her to a client of his who “requested her specifically”. A CIA operative-turned-target wants her help going on the run. Natalie living in the shadows is suddenly thrown front and center into the spotlight as a global CIA-run manhunt closes in on the agent and her with him. Whether she wants to or not, she’s been hired for one last job: protect the asset and survive. Inspired greatly by the Jason Bourne franchise obviously. Because this is years past the character-defining events of Miami, I am significantly more lax about how I pair Natalie up. I’ve left the motivation & actions of the prospective partner up to the prospective partner, duh. Romance is very much optional in this one. Light NSFW for violence & killing but this Natalie plot is expected to be less romantically involved than the previous.
[Probably SFW] Imminent system failure. A ship flashed out of nowhere in a blinding light ... debris peeling off the ravaged hull. There's a planet ahead; it’s not on any navigational databases. Power is running out though and the best that can be done is burning into a low orbit. Aboard the ship is a single living soul, unconscious from the cold and dehydration. This one is a fish-out-of-water trope prompt that pulls a little bit from my sci-fi lore without my partner actually needing to know any of it. The character aboard the wrecked ship is a humanoid xeno (best described as Na'Vi but not blue and not quite as big compared to humans). The only limit here is that whatever civilization is on the planet (which is up to anyone who wants this) has rudimentary space access capability. Nothing super futuristic ... just don't defund NASA. This is an interesting story to be played out when my character wakes up not sure of how they got there. I haven't actually singled out a character for this yet so I could be playing M or F here. I'll offer the choice up to the prospect partner here. Lot of what-ifs I haven't decided so feel free to get a bit creative with this one.
So I hope there's something there you like. I actually had to cut it off here because it was getting very long. I omitted anything fandom beyond the one Star Wars. Please leave any questions in the comments (since someone else might have the same one). If you have any prospect first posts for me, drop it in the comments or my inbox, I'd love to read it! I'm looking forward to whatever I get. Cheers!
