My sharp eye comes from knowing the canon information. You can look up everything you need to know on the internet. It's not even hard to find, in case you wanna educate yourself about the world JK created.

Going to Ilvermorny sounds more canon. The school is very accepting of students. But know that students are not allowed to take their wands out of school (other than Hogwarts) and that the last school year is year 7 (as far as we know) and the students are circa 17 when in their last school year. Otherwise with 19, the man would have to have graduated already. In case you put him in this school, please add a house to his information.

In case you want him in Castelbruxo, I have not much information regarding that school. But since they have a very advanced student exchange program, I can imagine that they would be okay with a UK boy attending their school.
