I have seen some shit through my life." Alexander remainded standing as the conversation continued, preferring to warm them up a bit before attempting to sit down. He had tried that before, and now knew better. The change of, well, everything was welcomed by him; the talking, the warm grill in front of him, the sense of normality, it was nice. Even what Thalia said about an old man she knew was better than the previous weeks of his existance. "Sounds like a man I'd want by my side, especially now. I hope I can live up to his fame." He said with a smile to Thalia, rubbing his hands together as the numbness slowly withdrew from them, leaving the pain than came with the warmth. Lola's answer wasn't exactly what Alexander had expected. To be frank, it was a bit over the top with how good the tank was, and he doubted half of what she said. The other half was true enough, Alexander knew, but still sounded wacky by the way Lola said it. What Thalia had said was true, she was indeed an aquired taste. Still, she was commanding a noteworthy, armoured vehicle, and that was quite the feat in itself. "As long as you keep clear of any T-54's, I think you and your baby will live long and happily." Alexander felt a glimpse of disappointment at their answers in regards to the smoke, though Lola's was the one he took most note of. She wasn't interested? As Lola tossed a small packed to him, which turned out to be instant coffee, he looked at the smoke again from where he was standing on the tank, before looking back at Lola and Thalia. "Thanks for the coffee. Do you have cup to spare?" He asked them, noting how Lola emptied her whole cup of something and how she ate. She reminded him of the soldiers who stopped caring about etiquette after months in the jungle. All things considered, he couldn't blame her. "If you ask me, I think it's people. It's not a rouge fire, too many small ones for that, I think." Alexander said to Thalia, really hoping what he himsef claimed was true. Sure two new people and a tank was good news, but safety also came in larger numbers. As long as those people were on your side, which he hoped. Then he turned to Lola, eating what he could only presume looked like mac 'n cheese. "What do you mean by not heading south-west? Anything down there worth avoiding? Like the gunshot from earlier today?"
