:: History :: Melvus grew up in the New York city in the United States. He hasn't seen his mother much since she lives in the United Kingdom, running her charms shop. Though she would, every now and again, pay a visit when she had an afternoon free. This was until Draven was accepted by the Ministry to serve as an Auror. Draven had attended Hogwarts but moved away afterward. Now he was returning, no doubt in an attempt to have his son attend the school he and Nevaeh had. Melvus had been taught charms by his mother from a young age. Every time she would visit, she would show him a new charm and explain its limitations and how it worked. This got Melvus extremely excited to one day take a charms class at Hogwarts, assuming he was accepted. Now it appeared that he had and he was rearing to go. The wand of yew is reputed to endow its possessor with the power of life and death, which might, of course, be said of all wands; and yet yew retains a particularly dark and fearsome reputation in the spheres of duelling and all curses. However, it is untrue to say (as those unlearned in wandlore often do) that those who use yew wands are more likely to be attracted to the Dark Arts than another. The witch or wizard best suited to a yew wand might equally prove a fierce protector of others. Wands hewn from these most long-lived trees have been found in the possession of heroes quite as often as of villains. Where wizards have been buried with wands of yew, the wand generally sprouts into a tree guarding the dead owner’s grave. What is certain, in my experience, is that the yew wand never chooses either a mediocre or a timid owner. Phoenix Feather This is the rarest core type. Phoenix feathers are capable of the greatest range of magic, though they may take longer than either unicorn or dragon cores to reveal this. They show the most initiative, sometimes acting of their own accord, a quality that many witches and wizards dislike. Phoenix feather wands are always the pickiest when it comes to potential owners, for the creature from which they are taken is one of the most independent and detached in the world. These wands are the hardest to tame and to personalise, and their allegiance is usually hard won. :: Personality :: Melvus is the sort to get along with everyone because he can adapt to a situation and the individuals in it. He's an intellectual who has always sought knowledge and understanding. While other children, in Wizarding America, were playing outside or getting their daily dose of television, he was attempting to learn. This isn't to say that he doesn't have fun - he's a child after all. However, he doesn't spend every waking moment of his childhood playing, he spends a fair amount learning. More recently, his demeanor and voice are often distant and dreamy. He's the sort to just walk away from a boring conversation, non-dependent of who it is with. Melvus can often be found in some public, yet secluded, place studying. :: Habits | Oddities | Quirks :: - Not tying his shoes when they become untied and yet he never trips over them :: Likes :: - Learning - Most sorts of magic - Classical Music - Reading :: Dislikes :: - Chores - Confined Spaces - Religion - Bullies :: Fears :: - The Dark - Death :: Worth to Mention :: ...
