Alright, after a day of errands and only being able to read bits and pieces throughout the day, I've come to my decision. It was a really hard one. 5 characters, all of which have some pretty great work put in their development, but only 3 spaces available. I had to base this off of what the crew still needed to be effective in a long voyage, synergy with already approved characters, and overall appeal. With that said, here are my critiques. [@Zero Hex] It is unfortunate, but I have to deny you. It appears that you did not read the rules. My additional critiques for the character himself would be that he literally has no history, and you spread him over pretty thin by giving him a wide range of both jobs and abilities related to those jobs. I'm not sure if he was intended to be the jack of all trades and able to "back up" the primary crew members as an assistant, but it ends up feeling like he has less of his own identity and focus. This is a shame, because these are all fairly easy fixes and I enjoy the concept. He'd add a great amount of cultural value. I'm sorry, but Samu Isaia is denied on those grounds. [@yoshua171] and [@Leaves], you are competing against one another for a doctor position, but you put in vastly different types of characters. Lilliana is more of an omnidisciplinary scientist, while Feya is a dedicated doctor as well as a general health/fitness nut. Comparing these two together for the same spot was like comparing apples to oranges, so I determined that they both have great merit they can add to the crew. Welcome aboard to both of you. Leaves, I do have a concern about how vague Feya's history is. While you're both approved, I'd still very much like you to expand on it and add details. Which brings me to the most difficult, painful decision of this whole character selection process. [@Demon Shinobi]. [@Spiffy]. The two of you put in characters that are so very similar in so many ways, but differ in the key details. Both are gunners primarily but can work with blades in a pinch. Both have a similar clothing scheme. Both are Ds (even if one is a joke). Both are alcoholics, but one struggles with the real tragedies of such a condition while the other is empowered by it. They both even have tremendous willpower as a special trait! You have no idea how hard this is, but I set myself a starting limit of 8 and I'm not one to break my own rules. So here it goes. *Sigh* Kite embodies more of the "One Piece" feel, having both a sense of tragedy in his heritage, as well as the over the top silly nature of the setting (drunkenness empowers him, sleep poking, etc.) while Boone is mostly tragedy after tragedy. That being said, since I know Spiffy in real life, I know he'll keep it funny in character all the time. Boone is not just a gunner though, and the crew needs a navigator. Meanwhile, Kite has one of the same problems that Hex's character does: spread too thin over a wide variety of skills and positions already taken, but none of them is "navigator." Conversely, Boone is more focused and specialized. At risk of being thought of as biased toward my soul brother, I will have to choose Boone. I'm very sorry, Shinobi, it was a really close decision. I'll keep seeing you in Titans Beyond, where RA and Accel can continue to be the dream team.
