Well yes, one argues a point for the sake of getting their way. We call this negotiating. That is literally what negotiating is. Me and you have both been compromising in an effort to reach a solution we are both happy with- or we were, until you decided to abruptly cut off negotiations like this.

Now, as for "disrespect", I have been nothing but civil with you. If anything, you have been disrespecting my time by stringing me along like this when it was pretty clear from the start you intended for this to be a roundabout rejection anyway. I tried to work with you to find a solution that would make us both happy, but it's become pretty clear we're on different sides of the whole pro-weird/anti-weird debate and I'm not likely to change your opinion on the subject by accommodating you. 

As a minor side note, I think your issues with my "tone", as you put it, may have been a matter of projection, but it's not really my place to diagnose.
