I'd say use Thanks for a first mate, mainly because that gives the kids a chance to become that first mate, so we wouldn't have a Captain kid but a potential kid first-mate. (despite me being the only kid PC, heh.)

Edit: Also, for any clarification, and I'm even going to bold this to make sure.
