Episode: 5 - Kids These Days
Metropolis, Metro Tower... It had been a long day for the heroes in the League. Some of the newer recruits were still raw with little to no field experience. They'd been training for hours with Wildcat, a hero still kicking way past his prime in the 40's and 50's. Superman and a group of heroes had just arrived minutes before the arrival of one of Wildcat's former teammates. Doctor Fate looked rough, and warned of a being called Extant before sneezing on a handful of Leaguers. Superman really wanted to get home to his wife and his daughter Lara, who should've already made it back to Metropolis on the bus despite her father wanting her to use her gifts. Extant appeared before the League and with his ability to shift time and alter reality froze those in his line of vision in place. Solara, a Kryptonian powerhouse on par with Superman used her incredible speed to try and floor the opponent with a low blow, like she had done to Lobo earlier in the day. "Ah... a Kryptonian." Extant boasted freezing her in place after her eyes grew wide that he didn't drop, "What to do with you... how about I throw you back to the 1930's so you can watch your home planet explode?" he asked with a wave of his hand sending her back in time to watch the planet's end. He turned to look at other heroes who were mounting an attack and with a wave of his hand threw Vibe and Fire through a window at least fifty feet high. However, his attack had no effect on the hooded champion of the wizard and he got a few good punches in before being grabbed by the face and thrown into frozen Leaguers. Keeping them all suspending was a constant tax on his powers so he thought of a way to take the most of them out of the fight. "I see Fate hiding back there... Cheating time and death yet again I see with your friend Wildcat. Let's see how you like being your age old man!" Extant screamed and turning both Fate and Wildcat into men easily in their 80's. "The rest of you can share their FATE... see what I did there?" Extant asked with a smirk as he aged several of the other heroes... but it appeared more than just the hooded Marvel was unaffected. The lizard girl, the negative man in the mecha suit, the Lex Corp sponsored hero Clutch, and the t-shirt wearing Rookie were also immune to the majority of the villains attacks. Superman, old and barely able to walk forward in any speed, as well as balding, tried to mutter a question. Reaching up for Extant after taking a fall hard onto the steel floor of the Metro Tower. "W--W--Why...?" he asked. "Because I can!" Extant exclaimed before noticing the heroes unphased by his power. "I don't know what tricks you're playing, but let's see how you handle fighting your own teammates!" he screamed taking a few of the Leaguers yet to be aged into the air and morphing their physiology. Clayface was now even more monstrous. The Warden had become completely engulfed by plant matter and was something like Swamp Thing mixed with an alien from the Independence Day films. And Toon Girl was morphed into a more violent looking cartoon, like something out of a Japanese series. These three still had their conscience, but couldn't stop themselves from attacking their friends and comrades. They gave chase throughout the Tower, while the other aged heroes just made fools of themselves. Bulleteer was barely a hundred pounds and his helmet felt like it weighed a ton and he fell over head first into a fountain. His clothes were loose. His muscles were gone. And he really needed to use the bathroom. "I'll find you Justice League Losers eventually. And when I do, what I did to that Kryptonian bitch will look like child's play. DO YOU HEAR ME?! CHILD'S PLAY!!" Extant screamed dropping to his feet after exerting so much power into aging the heroes and morphing the three into his personal guard. Across town, at the apartment of the Kents... "Lara, your Dad should be home soon..." Lois yelled into her living room from her kitchen to find her daughter had left. There was a text on her phone moments later that read "Back soon." -00492
