-Head of State: King Alaric of the Principality of Angris -Currency: Sacros -Language(s): Aemarine, Aberi(A Collection of several dialects and accents that resemble various forms of English) Brief Summery Over a hundred and fifty years ago, a Crusading Army came marching from the Justinian West, bent on the conquest of the Heathen South, the Crusade begun in what is now known as Ourobosia, at one point in the march, old rumors had resurfaced, telling of a Divine Sword hidden somewhere in the Northern Lands of Eirenar, now known as Aberys. Tensions rose as segments of the crusading army had split off and headed north, off to discover this long lost blad. The land of Eirenar was riff with barbarism and savagery, all under the dominion of the Red God Utarr, it was a land the Crusaders would gladly tame and take for themselves. Five years pass, the sword is found, and the barbarians are pushed further east as the Crusader Kingdom of Aberys takes its foothold over the land under the Lordship of the New King, Arthanus the First. Five decades pass, and troubled times befall Aberys, the King, Mordan, prematurely dies from a plague that gripped Aberys for a time, leaving no heir to claim the throne. Noble Houses soon begun to bicker as to who will claim the throne, bickering soon escalated to civil war, a war which would last six years before the Clerisy finally intervened and put a halt to the hostilities. After nearly a month of negotiations, an agreement was finally settled, one that would satisfy all the Noble Houses, with the death of the King, the old Kingdom had ceased to be, and so, a new order wold rise in its place. Aberys was now divided into twenty five Principalities, each lorded over by the Noble Houses, forming a confederation of aristocratic states, all would vote and agree upon who would the next king every fifteen years. A hundred years later into the present day, the United Principalities of Aberys still stands today, but ever more fragile and at risk then her predecessor as she is beset on all sides by the enemies of Justinian. The Western Realms however play a more vital role then mere propaganda, due to their distance from the various wars and the more cheerful atmosphere among the populace, the Western Realms represent the breadbasket of the south, their undisturbed crops yielding great bounty. [*]Knights of Aberys - Aberys is home to several renowned Knightly Orders [*]Noblesse Oblige - It is often stereotyped, although there is a kernel of truth to these claims, that the Lords of Aberys are the upstanding sort of folk, upholding the great idealistic notions of Honor and Chivalry, this is often reinforced in the Western Realms and parts of the North. However, this is but a mere facade in other regions. The Eastern Realms are a far different story, the ruling Lords of the East range from simply flawed men, to down right cruel in the case of Lord Alainon Gallomour. What is also well hidden from foreigners is the political intrigue among the Lords of Aberys. [*]Story Books come to Life - The Lands of Aberys, most notably the Western and Northern portions, is seen by many foreigners as something out of old fairytale books, the beautiful princes and princess, the untouched landscape, the joyous and song-filled festivals, truly a land of impossible beauty, and indeed it is such. A few clans had surrendered themselves over to their superior enemy, reluctantly renouncing their God, Utarr. Over a century later, the clans that had given themselves over to the Old Crusader Kingdom have partially assimilated to Justinianism, able to live, for the most part, within civilized society, at least, the Drimor portion of the clans. In times of great peril, the Reformed Clans will answer the call to war by their local Lord, acting as savage, yet effective auxiliary troops alongside the main Militia formations. Saints The Saints are a truly blessed set of individuals, chosen by the Justinian itself to become something great then the average mortal. Few are given this opportunity to become a Saint, and what such warriors descend from the skies into battle, cheers will be met as the enemy meets their end by Justinian's chosen. Aberys Rangers The Ranngers, like the Legion, are an Independent group of soldiers picked from all walks of life, trained to be master marksmen, swordsmen and skirmishers. The Rangers serve a similar, if more active role to the Legion in that they are often found patrol parts of Aberys, keeping it's roads clear of bandits and raiders. In times of war, Rangers can also serve as elite scouts. Lorimir Legion After the Civil War came to an end, Lorimir was set up once more as the Capital for the newly established Round Council and the Elected King. Lorimir, answering to new state nor lorded over one within Aberys, was to maintain it's own army, as such, remnants of the Old Kingdom's army were reorganized into the Lorimir Legion. The Legion had only two tasks to uphold, first and foremost was the defense of the capital city and its holdings, and lastly, the Legion is to act as mediators and peacekeepers between the Houses. Gunners The Age of Gunpowder has dawned upon Aberys, to a limited capacity that is. Aberys is no stranger to such weapons, but often keep them in small and concentrated numbers. The Gunners, like the Rangers, are formed into a small corp of elite marksmen, in the Gunner's case however, they are often held in reverve by fortunate lords to have such men under their disposal, but when they are sent to war, they will unless blazing hell upon their enemies from a great distance.
