While he was trying to help Jett the girl suddenly jumped to Donny, now face-to-face with her. In that brief moment of surprise Donny’s masquerade faltered and Elvira would catch a glimpse of something strange; instead of green or blue eyes, Elvira would not even see a glimpse of white in Donny’s eyes. But neither would she see an empty shadow in his sockets. No instead she'd catch a peek of some black mass that seemed to writhe inside Donny’s head. ”C-C-C-Can I he-e-elp you with something?!” Donny blurted in surprise. This girl was too close. It made Donny stumble back and started falling. Odd. That was...odd. If Elvira didn’t know any better, she would have said the boy had no eyes. At all. Maybe her sight was fooling her again. Yes, that must’ve been it. Her world was indeed void of colour and the monochrome tone of it all could often merge figure with ground. It would be of no surprise if a simple miscalculation had been made between brain and vision. Numerous times, Jett had told Elvira to consider others when greeting them and the girl truly had tried to learn the ins and outs of politeness but sometimes, just sometimes, she’d forget. Especially upon the initial greeting. “Ah, sorry... I should have warned you about that, Are you-” Elvira tuned out those around her for a moment. What she thought she saw was something black, something not solid, either. Not in the sense of the desk beside her or the window she’d just fell through. It was moving in a way that Elvira had never seen such a part of the anatomy move before. Were eye sockets that lenient? Were eyes themselves meant to be entirely blank and move so fluently? An overwhelming urge to solve the questions riddling her brain encouraged an arm to reach out towards the new, startled, mystery case of hers. Elvira was sure she’d measured it out right - the distance between her and him in front of her. Despite her careful planning, her hand didn’t come into contact with his face. Within a macro-second, she realised what had happened while she’d been distracted with her own ponderings. She must have spooked him a tad, for he was falling back. Quickly, too. “I just wanted to-” Almost instinctively, she’d reached out to grab a hold of Donny’s hand and tug him back up. Bad mistake. Had she taken the time to finish her analysis of him like she often did when meeting new people, she would have realised that her 110lb had nothing on him. She wasn’t particularly strong either. How on earth had she thought this would work out? Elvira found herself facing the same hard-grounded fate as Donny. Donny landed flat on his ass, 300lbs of fleshy and jelly hitting the classroom floor with a loud thud. Were he alone that would've been the end of it; Donny falls, gets up, wipe off his pants, and moves on with his life. But Elvira had to play hero. She reached out and grabbed his hand but she simply lacked the strength to stop what was already started. She was pulled down with Donny and would share his fate of falling onto the cold, unforgiving floor. But not if Donny had anything to say about it. While Donny wasn't the fastest nor sharpest of the class, even he could react to accidents with instinctive quickness. When Elvira fell after Donny he was quick to pull her towards him, to save her from the tumble at the expanse of himself. This caused Donny to fall onto his back and nearly hit his head on the floor. In exchange however Elvira would be saved from all of that, though instead she'd have to fall onto Donny’s soft and squishy belly. As Donny impacted the ground and Elvira landed on top of him, his inner body shifted. While nothing looked too odd on the surface (aside from Elvira landing on him), on the inside all of Donny’s bones contracted tightly together to withstand the impact, which would result in Elvira sinking a bit deeper into Donny’s body than one normally would. She also bounced off of his body as if she just face planted onto a bed, and would continue to bounce until the momentum of her fall dissipated. In short, for a brief moment Donny was incredibly squishy. ”A-A-Are you alright?” Twice she’d fallen today and twice someone had been there to catch her. Just like before, she had a soft landing pad. To Elvira’s amazement, Donny’s squishy stomach turned out to be a lot more entertaining than that part of the body could be. She found herself subtly bouncing; a motion like the one experienced when jumping up and down on a kid’s bouncy castle. Now was that luck or was that luck? Granted, the boy’s physique didn’t look solid but the brunette had never reasoned it would be this doughy. Unfortunately, it was true that in both cases, the one saving her from thudding against the floor bered the brute of the consequences. Upon falling, he’d come within a hair’s breadth of slamming his head against the floor. She’d have to thank him for that later. Elvira looked up to Donny’s chest, paused, then carried on up to his eyes. Bow. He needed a bow. Stuffing coming from his spongy belly too but something told Elvira humans weren’t exactly full of the same sort of stuffing as her teddy bear. “Mhm…” The girl seemed to be processing something, for her tongue came to press against the inner side of her right cheek, creating the impression of it upon the other side. She pushed herself off of Donny, and maneuvered her body to a kneeling position beside him. “Pchelka. You’re almost like Pchelka. Would you wear a bow?” ”What.” As if things couldn't get weirder, the girl called Donny something weird and wanted him to wear a bow. He assumed a hair bow, though he wasn't sure why. He didn't exactly have the hair for it. As Donny struggled to get back up, his bones started to return to their supposed original places, which assisted Donny in lifting his body off the ground. This would have been easier if he didn't have to maintain the illusion he was a real person and not a slime inside a person shaped bag. ”I mean I g-guess if it was a pretty bow or something. Did you h-h-hit your head?” As Donny sat up he noticed that much to his misfortune, he had utterly crushed the granola bar in his hand. Not only did it feel crumbly in his hand, the impact tore the casing and caused crumbs to fall on the floor. ”Oi blyat.” “Bad word.” The girl immediately blurted out. Force of habit. Back home, her real home, Big Brother was always using it and her mother would magically swoop in and snap that short, ‘lil, phrase. Elvira had been severely scolded whenever attempting to use it herself. “No, I… didn’t hit my head. You saved me.” The phrase was said with lacklustre - not the tone you’d imagine a heroine in distress to use at all. Well, you could open up a can of tuna for her and she’d call you her hero. Her proclaiming you her saviour wasn’t exactly something to be particularly honored about. She turned to face Donny, noted the crest fallen expression upon his face. Something incredibly soul-destroying must have happened for him to react so negatively. Was that because of her? “Is something the matter?” Even before asking, Elvira found herself leaning over to peer at what had the boy’s focus. When Donny was falling over, all three involved had predicted the outcome but only Donny had thrown in some way of preventing a gruesome end. It all happened so fast , Jett just couldn’t think up a solution of his own quick enough. He wanted to quickly teleport behind and brace him, but when he tried to do so it just didn't work. Shocked him so much that his quirk didn't engage when he wanted it to, that he didn't have time to actually grab onto Donny or Elvira. Confused at this he didn't say anything or try to pick them up, looking at his hands and wondering what happened. He knew he was tired, he knew he had enough energy for a tiny jump only a few feet away. But when he tried it, it just wouldn't work. A sense of fear came over him as he thought back to his childhood where he had zero control over his powers… was it happening again? It wasn't like he didnt have control over his thoughts at the moment. He knew what that felt like. But it was the fact that it was not engaging that worried him...maybe using it too much in the battle? No.. he could still do it even after his limit. It would hurt him, but he could still pull one out. He touched his side of his head...was it because of that last fight? His attention was brought back as he heard Elvira ask if something was the matter. He glanced down to see the granola bar on the ground. The fact he offered him one and seemed so focused on it now, he could tell that it probably meant a lot to him. “Uh…” still slightly confused with what just happened a moment ago, but forced his attention to situation at hand. It was a fluke. Nothing was wrong.“Sorry bout that… I'll get you a new one for your troubles.” He glanced at Elvira and then back at Donney. Offering his hand to Donny to help him up and also Elvira as they knelt next to each other. Bracing himself with a wide stance he helped both to their feet and then said to Donney “My name is Jett Haven, thanks for the offer to help me up.” keeping the hand he had on Donnys and offering a firm shake. ”Oh. N-No problem. I mean,” Donny looked at the mess on his hand and on the floor, then back at Elvira and Jett. ”That's was uh…. T-That was for you. Cuz I thought y-y-you were tired and h-hungry from all the fighting and s-s-s-stuff.” Donny took Jett’s hand as soon as Elvira was on her feet and stood up. Donny was careful not to spill anymore crumbs as he ate the rest of it, wrapper and all. He didn't want to give Jett a ruined granola bar. ”Uh… D-D-Donny’s the name. D-Donny Yang. Nice ta meet cha.” He bowed his head towards the two. Elvira’s eyes narrowed somewhat at the boy who had now introduced himself as Donny. Clearly, his quirk must be optical illusions because she was pretty sure she’d just watched him eat the entire wrapper. “Elvira.” She finally offered up. “Haven. Elvira Haven.” It seemed odd, pronouncing that last name with her own first name attached. Especially out loud. Sure, she’d said it aloud in front of the mirror, to people who lived closeby to the Havens, even mumbled it to herself from time to time, but she never thought of volunteering it to a new acquaintance at this school. Doing so made it feel that much more real. “I’ll make you something to replace it… don’t know when you’ll get it.” She looked towards Jett, her frown becoming more pronounced yet her voice remained unchanged. “Jetty often eats anything I make before it’s even cooled.” Jett looked at Donny with an odd look as he ate the wrapper. One way to clean up after yourself. But he smiled at him as he said it was for him. “Thanks Donny, that was kind of you.“ He said in a cheery voice. Glancing at Elvira as she added his last name to hers. He smiled even more, as she only been with his family for a few months yet she wanted to take their name as her own. It made his mother so happy to hear it as well. She always had wanted another child besides the three she had. But she couldn't do so anymore due to medical reasons. It said a lot to him personally how much she took to their family. It had a good ring to it, that was for sure. He then looked back to Donny when she offered to make him something. “It's true, it's worth the burn. She makes amazing baked goods. I'll try and resist so you can get some.” He said with a chuckle. He stretched backwards by putting his hands on his hip, he felt a large Pop in his back. Letting out a sigh as the tension in his back went away from Elvira landing on him. Donny looked at Jett and Elvira and smiled. They seemed like nice people. Elvira was even going to bake him something! ”That… S-Sounds nice.” Donn tried slowing down his speech so reign in his stuttering. Poking his fingers together he was already excited about eating whatever sort of cake or cookies Elvira had in mind. More for his dinner he'll be making later. It did give him an idea. ”Maybe we could… Bake something… Together.” Donny was thinking of making some bread, though that was more of a passing thought. Elvira always did enjoy a baking buddy. Often it was Jett but someone who couldn’t sprinkle the flour on the rolling pin without pretending it was fairy dust could get to even the most patient of bakers. “Yes, I would like that. Very much.” With a nod of her head, the offer was happily accepted. Speaking of thoughts Donny remembered something and glanced at Elvira. He looked a bit nervous because he was dimly aware that she may or may not know Russian, while he was dropping a few slurs he learned from online gaming. But there was another thing she said that made him curious. ”Um… What's a P-Pchelka?” “Not a.” Elvira held up a finger to indicate she was about to correct Donny’s slip up. “He. Pchelka’s a really good friend of mine.” That spark within her eyes returned and her hands suddenly seemed a lot more animated - gesturing along with her words and even . The girl never got excited like this unless it was about dear Pchelka. “He gives the most amazing cuddles. He’s so soft, cute, sweet and huggable. Maybe when we’re baking you can meet Pchelka. You look just like him, only...” Elvira dropped her gaze and tapped her finger against her lips. Something seemed to be troubling her. Deeply. Donny smiled a little. So Elvira was basically comparing him to a teddy bear. Compared to other things people has called him in the past, a teddy bear was one of the better names. At least, if she is comparing him to a toy bear. Maybe a puppy. Or considering that she may be a Russian, it could be a very real bear she just tamed. Donny would humor the thought. However she seemed to suddenly change from excitedly talking about Pchelka to quiet and troubled. Donny wasn't sure if she was deep in thought or if she just stumbled across a bad memory. Thinking quick on his feet Donny tried to change the subject. He didn't really know a “safe” topic, just anything that would take Elvira’s mind away from whatever may relate to this Pchelka person/thing. And there was one subject Donny was always eager to talk about. ”What sort of food will you be baking?” Donny asked, quite notably without a stutter or any difficulty. He took out his cellphone and showed Elvira and Jett the coupons he saved. ”I was going to buy a pie later, but if we're going to be making something perhaps I could go buy ingredients? I like anything really, but I've been really craving something crispy and sweet.” Donny tried his best to sound eage, not too hard considering the subject matter, and tried to get Elvira’s mind on it too, which would be slightly more difficult. “Hmm?” One must remember that whatever Elvira’s eyes were scrutinising was what had her attention. It took a while for them to shift to the faint glow of Donny’s phone screen. Coupons? The brunette rewinded what Donny had just said. “The… ingredients?” Ah, for the baking session she’d just agreed on doing. Mere seconds and she had already partially forgotten about that. Not that she didn’t want to partake in the activity, of course she did. More so that her mind had begun to drift from the present at the mention of Pchelka and the… new addition. “No, no. Jett can pay for that. We ruined your food so we’re equally going to remedy that.” Funny how Elvira got to do so by having fun whereas Jet was stuck to the financial end of it all. “As for something crisp and sweet, what about Tula gingerbread? We can make all sorts of patterns on the top of it. Mo- Somebody taught me a few secrets.” ”P-P-Pay? It was only a candy bar…” Fonny didn't quite feel right making Jett buy the ingredients over one old granola bar he probably brought from a vending machine. Still it was putting Elvira back into a better mood so Donny wouldn't struggle too much. ”... Jett should at l-l-least use my coupons. A-And that sounds delicious. I've never had gingerbread before. What should we have to drink with it? Soda? Tea? Coffee?” Donny was about to suggest milk, but he didn't want to come across as childish. Even though he loves milk. “Apple juice. The ones in the small cartons taste better than in the… the…” Ah, the word had slipped from her mind. Elvira meant to use the exact opposite of her preschool preference. What did the twins always use to call it? “Poury-out one.” That’ll do. “Jug."Jett simply interjected Donny seemed rather elated about all this. Was this what people often referred to as passion? Or an obsession? Weren’t obsessions supposed to be bad? Also don't worry about the coupons. It's on me...apparently. ” He added with a carefree tone. He didn't mind paying for it, Not that he had a real job. He didn't have time for it with his training and school. So his father made a deal with him, if he got high grades, while helping around the house he would get paid for it. His father was dead serious about teaching his kids about hard work and responsibility. Course this would come out of that, But if it meant he got some baked goods as well from Elvira...totally worth it. Looking around the room he noticed kauske glancing his way, He flashed one of his lazy crooked smiles towards her. Hopefully she didn't see him fall flat on his face. Not very smooth of him. She was standing by the girl...who he was apparently searching for, So she was apart of this class huh? Also that Pink haired chick who jumped through the bloody window. When looking at mamoru his shoulders dropped and his eyes narrowed. Great... He wanted to walk over and talk to both the new girl and Kauske. But decided against it, He already made multiple initiations attempts to talk to kauske. He didn't want to look like the lost puppy dog always following her around. Besides...Class was about to start according to the clock. But before he could move he saw that the six armed amazonian got up and left when she laid eyes upon him and Elvira. Touchy subject with the dancing then? His lips turned into a thoughtful/amused frown. Apparently she didn't like people seeing her dance. Shrugging it off he sat down with a sigh and knocked Elvira's chair back down. He did glance over just at his left and down and notice a pair of gym clothes under Kauske's desk....that were MASSIVE. Why was she holding onto a big pair of gym clothes that looked even too big for him? [@Norschtalen][@Silver Carrot]
