He always thought he would stay in Tamashini, his family are all fishermen and he assumed that he would carry on in the family business. The sea has always been a big part of Riyku's life and he couldn't imagine being away from it. But times are hard and his parents have pushed him towards going to university and making something more of himself, a chance they themselves never had. Riyku is torn between his parent's wishes, and his love of his home and their way of life. Overall he feels lost about what to do with his future.
Uncertainties
Rikyu fears being alone more than anything, the idea of moving away to somewhere no one knows him, or everyone else leaving Tamashini is his worst nightmare. Rikyu has some degree of spiritual awareness, although it is not precise, he can feel the presence of spirits from a great distance (especially malevolent ones) but struggles to pinpoint where exactly these feels are coming from. Something he likens to how an experienced sailor will feel a storm coming at sea. He is quite spiritually strong, but struggles with precise spiritual adaption, feeling that the power of spirits is like water and doesn't want to be shaped, but rather just flow. This allows him to blast torrents of energy, but without precision or finesse. A heavy hitter from medium range, faster opponents can run rings around him.
