I should be wiser and realize that I've got one less problem without ya!
Despite her warnings, Alexandros chose to ignore her and picked up another fry from her plate. Audrey, sticking to her word, instinctively jerked the hand holding the fork onto his hand, but unfortunately missed. She gave a huff of annoyance, but didn’t have much time to think about it before Alex continued to speak. The fact that Alexandros was dead-set on his wrong belief that she had any involvement in the Sauveterre scandal was now getting to her. To further contribute to her annoyance, he followed his words assuring her that if she thought she’d won, she should think again. By this point, Audrey was at the edge of stabbing the Mossos male with her plastic fork. It was visible in the deep frown in her face, her full lips pressed together in that pout she made when she was truly displeased. Of course, this didn’t stop Alex from egging her on further. He declared that a Mossos always won before slowly leaning his face towards hers. The distance between them was shortening, and at one point they were so close to each other that Audrey could feel his minty and french fry breath softly grazing her lips. ‘Don’t fall for it… Don’t fall for it… Don’t fall for it…’ As much as she would have wanted to simply inch her face closer and lock her lips with Alexandros’, Audrey held her ground. She found herself chanting her mantra over and over again in her mind until... ‘FUCK!’ she spat, once again trying and missing by a millisecond to stab Alexandros with the fork again when he took advantage of her distracted position to snatch the last fry off her plate. He muttered something about how good said fries were before attempting to make his exit. “Oh no, you don’t.” she muttered. No way was he leaving now. He wouldn’t get the last word. In a flash, Audrey briskly stood up from her table and rushed over to where Alexandros was making his way out of the cafeteria. When she was close enough, she grabbed him hard by the arm with surprising strength and turned him in her direction. Even though Audrey wasn’t nearly as strong as the young man was, having taken him by surprise might have helped the ease of said move. “You know what, Mossos? There are no winners here.” Audrey began, crossing her arms in front of her while blocking his way to the exit. If the serious look in her face wasn’t enough to convince Alexandros of the words she was about to say, the fire of determination that shone through her chocolate brown eyes just might. “I’m not doing this anymore. I’m not some prize you get at the end of a competition. I have more important things to worry about than playing a dumb game of cat and mouse with someone who clearly sees me as a stop along the way and not a final destination.” With a nod of her head, Audrey motioned to her friends that they were leaving the cafeteria. The A Team quickly gathered their belongings (Leslie being a sweetheart and bringing the Latina’s possessions) and made a beeline for the exit. However, Audrey wasn’t moving. With the rest of the girls now waiting by the exit, the brunette gave Alexandros some parting words: “Go waste someone else’s time.” And with those cutting words still hanging in the air, Audrey turned around and exited the room, her friends trailing after her.
