I had stated that the bugs in the book were intelligent enough to create missiles, beam weapons, and starships capable of rivaling our own, it's not too far of a stretch that perhaps they could've figured out how to mechanize, and it is only for their heavy artillery and defense platforms.

But I digress, are there ways to improve upon this idea, if so, do you have any suggestions?
