Sure, she'd lost out on a nice candlelit dinner for two, but she supposed that was to be expected. It seemed regardless of who her Master was or what name he called himself, some things never changed. The man she served would always thirst for battle, for glory, for victory. So long as there was a prize to be had, he would seek it without hesitation or delay, overcoming all obstacles in his path. So, that hadn't changed... even in this peaceable era, where her Master was but an out of place boy on the cusp of manhood, struggling to make his way in a time and place that was ill suited to his ambition. Even if he didn't realize the truth of her mystery, and of the curse she had inadvertently borne with her upon the both of them, there were still some things that had remained constant. That, for now, was more than enough to give her reassurance. Lancer gently steered their path into a darkened alleyway, glancing from side to side to ensure that they wouldn't be seen. It would have been a pain to erase the memories of anyone who might have witnessed what followed, and even more troublesome to hunt them down and kill them. "As you wish, my dear Master," She said, giving a gentle smile as she released the stone clutched in her hand. Immediately, it lifted off into the air, and floated steadily upward and over the rooftops to the west, retracing its steps to its destination. Rune Magic: B Now, then... the only matter at hand was to follow it, but it would have been terribly boring to just run on foot. Not to mention that they'd be making a spectacle of themselves. She probably should have asked permission for what she did next, but... she was to proceed with all due haste, yes? Her orders had been given, had they not? So, grinning cheekily to herself, she abruptly withdrew her hand from Edward's grasp, and then wrapped her arms tightly around his waist, looking up with a sly smile. "Now Master, do hold on tightly, alright?" This was his only warning before a second later, Lancer braced herself against the ground, then leaped violently upward into the air. In an instant, they accelerated far beyond the human eye's ability to track their progress, yet all that Edward would feel was a gentle breeze as they found themselves soaring ever-higher... and then completely failed to descend again. Lancer laughed to herself, hopping and twirling upon thin air, arms wrapped around her master all the while as if waltzing upon the clouds. With each step she took, a faint pulse of formless energy split the air beneath her like the beating of the wings of an unseen bird. ■■d■ ■f ■h■ V■■■■r■■■: B A skill of unknown origin and identity. Appears to function similarly to an incredibly fine-tuned form of Prana Burst, releasing precise pulses of Prana in order to amplify movement abilities. Its linear acceleration capability appears to be incredibly high, but it also grants the user an incredibly fine level of control over their own maneuvering, such that impossible turns and "riding" upon air currents - not to mention simply walking upon thin air - become possible. However, this skill also appears to transcend a simple usage of Prana, as the user and any belongings or individuals carried with them is seemingly unaffected by forces such as gravity and air resistance, and feels only the breeze as they move. Such a casual defiance of natural law is rare indeed, even among Heroic Spirits. Dancing thus across the air, Lancer rapidly tracked the stone in its flight, soaring over the city with the ease of a casual stroll. As she drew closer to her destination, a golden light began to envelop her, and her previous casual attire began to be replaced by something else. A white cloak fluttered upon the wind, and gilded scales shimmered in the light of the moon as the Servant descended along with her Master upon a towering rooftop, overlooking the area surrounding the Church. With a metallic clang, the spiked butt of a long spear with a curving blade of white steel planted itself in the concrete, and Lancer's own armored sabatons resounded against the pavement as she released her Master and strode to the edge of the rooftop. She stood silhouetted against the darkness of the night, the ornamental wings of her armor like those of an eagle seeking its prey. In an instant, she had been transformed from a young maiden to a radiant golden warrior, who thus stood sternly overlooking the battlefield below. "Good grief," She sighed, shaking her head. It seemed that there was already a battle underway close to the Church, but she couldn't make out the details of who was fighting or what weapons they employed, as her view was obstructed by a large cloud of smoke. Elsewhere, her stone had gone off on the trail of some other Servant fast absconded, signaling that there were others still in the area. "The war's only just begun, and they're all already trying so hard to kill each other." She shrugged, plucking her spear back from and giving it an experimental twirl, testing its familiar weight in her hands. Its undulating blade split the air cleanly like a thunderclap, sending a mighty wind billowing outward from the rooftop. The old rush, the old power, the old thrill of battle... She hadn't felt this way in far too long. Already, she could feel the old fire alight in her bosom, and she knew that this time, she would not fail in upholding the oath she swore. "Well, whatever," She turned back to her Master, and spread her arms as if inviting him once more to an embrace. "The battle here seems quite dull, and it's unbecoming to interrupt when warriors are giving their all. What say you we go hunting instead for more elusive game, and seek those who've already turned tail and fled?" Although she spoke highly of matters of pride and honor, truth be told, those words meant little when it came to her reasoning. Rather, it seemed to her that intervening in an already desperate battle seemed far too likely to make herself - and, more importantly, her master - into the targets of the combatants already committed to the fight. But, if there was a Servant who had already run away, then didn't it stand to reason that they'd have done so because they were weak? It was hardly honorable to dispose of a fleeing, weakened enemy... But honorable though she'd have liked to call herself, seeing this war won was much more important than any sort of empty pride.
