Where humanity once lived in spaced out cities and towns, it soon was to become cramped and confined by the soon dominant species known as the Ushilion, an umbrella name for hundreds of creatures that were released during the Ruination Crisis. At the previous era, where the fall of the Kiriton Dynasty was caused by the Ruination Crisis, the entire central land-mass, Alkryte, was thought to be too dangerous to inhabit, and so the remainder of humanity pledged to never return, abandoning it during the final Dynasty's collapse and contamination of Alkryte. Using the oceans as a barrier and frontal line of defence against the abominations that rose from the Ruined Gate, humanity became isolated, but safe for as long as they needed. Such an act led to the formation of coastal defences, centralised cities and the founding of a new nation within Reshusia known as Limpith. Limpith was humanity's last hope, their last stand and their last chance at remaining existent in the harsh new world created by said Crisis. Several cities were set up from the ashes of their once great civilisation and dynasty, mostly designed to only protect, rather than for constant expansion. To name the greater ones, cities like Harther, Juliana, Gertruga and Turan, all formed their own coalition in order to produce the Islaih Empire. A series of rightful rulers stepped up to the task of holding humanity in order and peace, and successful it was. But the call to arms never rested, as countless upon countless men and women were offered to enlist and protect the watery borders of Limpith. Eventually, the 'Servicemen' were created, acting as a standalone division serving under the Emperor's orders independently. Whilst they did not serve under the regular military and militias dotted around the nation, they acted as a collection of trained individuals only used to combat the threats of the Ushilion, finding themselves not used and somewhat useless over many generations. After a ruthless and almost overwhelming encounter with a singular large Ushilion, based around the watery borders, a handful of Servicemen find themselves forced to fight the Ushilion, like they were designed to, in a struggle for both survival. With the regular military only being capable of defending the large cities and towns of the Empire, the Servicemen are tasked with defending the fields, the hills and mountains of their homeland, before having to face the brutal reality across the channel, sent into the very heart of Alkryte in their own attempt to break down the Ushilion invasion...

Alkryte, being the centre landmass and the superior nation in Reshusia, was once the only home to humanity and its settlers. It became apparent that the land of order needed to be set into motion. Though time and tales usually talk of the larger dynasties that ruled the land, humanity was originally divided into states, where individual leaders governed their own policies and people under their own preferences. These times were usually referred to as the 'Youth Era', where humanity was at its youngest methods of understanding how civilisation worked. More of a laughable tale now, these times were constantly involving bloody wars and reformation of states until eventually the state of order came through. The first state of order was the first of two dynasties. Whilst it wasn't officially agreed upon who was to take the throne and lead the people of Alkryte to salvation, the call for war eventually decided the outcome. The 'Uncertain reunification' of the Second Era saw the hundreds of states face off against one another, constantly forming alliances and betraying their own allies in order to remain on top. Days passed, and states fell. Months passed, and more crumbled. Years passed, and the states grew in mass. Millions of lives were caught in the bloodshed, and some questioned whether it was worth it. Rebellions within states emerged, and coups took place throughout the entire nation until eventually, the first dynasty became apparent. The ruthless leader of the Osloa State, Herma Nahu, took power over the other states as she became the first Queen of Alkryte, and humanity. The Osloa Dynasty wasn't a long running dynasty, and only lasted a bad 342 years, where terror and corrupt legacies continued onwards throughout its time period. That was, until, the rise of their opposition became apparent. Under the name of Nei Kiriton, a civil war broke out, resulting in a blood two year conflict that ended the evil dynasty and gave the righteous power back into good hands. The Kiriton Dynasty was born.

Reshu Crystals are the main source of power for the weaponry and certain experimental machinery in the entire human existence. Found only just before the fall of the Osloa Dynasty and during the establishment of the Kiriton Dynasty, these crystals each can contain a large amount of power and energy to direct and empower items. The most famous of these were the Kiriton Siege artillery cannons back in the oldern times, months before the Ruination Crisis. Nowadays, the Reshu Crystals are primarily used to power up the weapons of the high-ranking branches of the military. The Servicemen are the prime example of their use, each member having their own individual pair of weapons based upon their fighting style. The Reshu Crystal specifically can create wonderous charms in their weaponry, such as encased energy fields. A good example of this is having a weapon that can act as two in one. Juhan Utana, a infamous Serviceman who quelled a rebellion in the North, had a long bow made out of two curved Reshu-powered scimitars connected together. The string of the bow was powered by the crystals, making an energy field capable of being used. Though many don't understand how the crystals work, they like the way they work. These can have effects of elemental proportions, such as creating incendiary effects.

The Kiriton Dynasty rose into power after the victory over the Osloa Dynasty during the 'Two year Civil War'. Ruling in a fair way which aimed to benefit the overall society rather than whoever sat in the throne, it thrived for many centuries during the expansion of Humanity. They began to create smaller towns, greater cities and an excess load of citizens to occupy the nation. Flourishing in their ways of colonising and expansion, they grew further and further into prosperity, only having to deal with a few uprisings and acts of terrorism along the way. They ruled rightfully for too many generations to come. Whilst they were the leading Dynasty, they did have their own problems. Their control over certain regions seemed to lack, allowing warlords to rise in certain areas and create several small wars the Dynasty had to deal with. This didn't seem like an issue at first, but it proved to be a greater one as time went by. Triumphant in every conflict, there seemed to be nothing that could stop this chain of leaders and rulers, almost always backed by its own people who believed they were the key to salvation on Reshusia. And as a matter of fact, they were for a good amount of time. Right up until the end of the Third Era, considered to be the final era of overall peace, they managed to begin their works on machinery, firearms and different inventions that would shape the world. Until, the Ruination Crisis occurred, of course.

There was no telling of what created such an event, but the cause of it is very apparent. During the last months of the Third Era, the final Queen of the Kiriton Dynasty had given the accepting support of a new mining project to undergo. After the biggest mine in the Dynasty's power soon began to face problems with its terrain and how deep it was going to go, a project known as Grace and Arms was set into motion, hoping to mine a flourishing vein of complicated materials that would bring a graceful amount of resources towards the military and advancing in arms research and development. Whilst the project was successful for the first month, an unwanted and unpredictable discovery occurred right within those mines. A small, prebuilt structure was found underground, leading to much controversy as to whether or not they should mine further. Panic arose, as for most of the time the humans were the only civilisation capable of building or massing together as a community, but the designs of these chambers they found seemed rather different from any historical accuracy in human life. Eventually, they built up the guts to send in a team of librarians, warriors, two wizards and the eldest son of the Queen into the building. Most of it was empty rooms, some larger than anything they could have ever imagined. As the days went by, the teams sent in went deeper and deeper every time, almost as if the structure went on for miles. Eventually, they came to what appeared to be a great hall, where a single lever was found. As most of the contraptions in the structure seemed unable to work, it seemed only logical for the researchers to see if this one worked too, possibly to be used to open doors or somewhat. However, their ignorance and lack of caution then was the cause of this crisis, as upon pulling the leaver...something opened. This opening started to pour out thousands of creatures, large and small, as they smashed and slithered their way out of the buried structure. No one knew what the lever opened, whether it was a portal or a chamber hiding these horrifying creatures. They advanced, straight out of the mining facility and into the open worlds. Towns and villages slowly began to be torn to bits, the citizens ripped to shreds by their unknown opposition. Many panicked, especially the Western side of the regions, and began to hold their ground as a large mass of the military were deployed nationwide. Eventually, boats were set, and daily trips back and forth across the channel were ready. The mass evacuation was prepared, designed to try and save as many people as possible. Before the first boat even set off, news spread that the Queen's home city had been over-run, and the panic became so apparent that every single evacuating soldier sped up the process, taking every civilian they could and pledging to never return to the lands, afraid that anyone who tried to return would be met by a strange array of creatures, unlike anything the continent had ever seen before.

The most common and symbol of the Ushilion species, these man-sized crawlers are capable of quite decent speeds, some able to outrun most men and women. The creature itself usually travels in large packs or alone in a few pairs, but they are deadly in whatever size or group. Swarmers can decimate limbs from the average man with great force, stabbing mostly and tearing with its barbed legs, whilst using the terrifying face of its own to rip specific holes into the bodies of a single man. They are most effective against a single man in pairs, but can be easily outclassed when faced by a group, if it doesn't take one or two of those in that group down before it dies itself. Their eyes glow an amber shade in the night, a key component in striking fear towards the prey it lurks towards.

The only known Ushilion that does not attack on sight, the Roamer walks alone or in mating trios across the land to only settle and walk as it pleases. It is very unclear what these creatures actually do usually and why their patterns of roaming are unknown, but sometimes they are subjected to swimming around in the shallow waters, occasionally near the Nation of Limpith. This is the most commonly seen Ushilion when it comes to the coastline guard of Limpith, as they tend to roam the beaches every now and then. Only when disturbed or somewhat irritated by unknown actions will it attack. They can be very brutal, sometimes taking a good few blows before even showing signs of pain. As if letting out rage inside of them, they will stop at nothing to redeem its peaceful agenda. Much like larger lobsters in the seas around Limpith, they grab and tear at their foes, making for a very devilish display for comrades to watch.

The smallest image of the 'Dragon-type' Ushilions, these beasts seem to specialise in attacking small groups, as well as larger armies when in packs and flocks. They are incredible deadly to the point of working both well on land and in the air, snatching and tearing at their prey to ensure a quick but gruesome death. Their minds seem only to focus on killing their opposition, and can be determined in what they do and when they do it. Unlike the previous two that are the size of a man, they are more like a large crocodile, split down the length of its own body. This specific 'Dragon-type' cannot arch its back nor stand on two legs, leaving it somewhat subjective to low blows and attacks from above. However, their image remains very terrifying to those who have actually encountered and survived them, which isn't many as of now.

The smallest of the fire-breathing Ushilions, the Pe'a Netal are a serpentine-like creature that works alone and can easily fight deadly conflicts with its same species if it comes across one. Their ability to slither makes them quite agile, especially in sieges on cities and climbing towers. Whilst their size alters drastically from a man-sized serpentine to a 'dragon' sized one, they are ruthless in their arts of ambushing and cutting off any available assistance its prey might get. They appear to be one of the more intelligent Ushilions, having ways of stalking prey for great distances and striking in places that seem best fit for its combat style. The under-belly can be weak, but that doesn't mean it can't take a small beating.

Though very rare, the Yoia No'ae stand at a ruthless 16 metres tall and roam alone, seemingly without any guidance or help of its similar species. They are disfigured man-like creatures that seem to focus on providing fear from its slow and daunting movement. This slow movement allows it to successfully act as a ramming shield for the smaller races in the Ushilion species. With several weak points only known to a few warriors and survivors that lurk within the lands of Alkryte, they can be taken down, but their presence is highly unknown. The thick skin and disgusting limbs armoured with claws make it an easy way of making men and women soldiers retreat in simple fear from its sight. Most that have seen it claim they do not know how it fights, because they ran away only when they had the first chance to.

The iconic image of the 'Dragon-type' Ushilions, these behemoths can be around 15 to 146 metres long, usually difficult to take down, if not impossible. They lurk mostly in the deepest regions of the lands contaminated with these creatures. Their iconic fire-breathing aspect matches the very same myths and legends that only the eldest of humans thought were true. No one has seemingly taken one down, and only the improving members of the Servicemen may be able to figure out its weaknesses. However, until then, it remains a figure of fear and destruction. Some of these have been recorded in the fall of Alkryte to destroy defences and walls, before leaving and allowing the rest of the Ushilions to do their bidding.

These have not been seen in recent centuries for a long time, but have recordings written in desperate tones from those who saw and managed to evacuate off the main-land. The recordings show similar drawings, all showing a similar armoured man-like stance with weaponry, all saying that they are able to talk or speak in many languages, most lost and forgotten, some of their own. Little is known about them, but many predict they are the masterminds behind the invading force, directing the large groups when they have the opportunity. Others disagree, and say that it can't be possible, as most creatures roam alone without any packs or organisation.

The Islaih Imperial rulership over the new nation of Limpith has proven to be a lot more fair than the previous Kiriton Dynasty in Alkryte. With a serious diplomacy of ministers and political advisers, the nation gets a fair amount of balance between military and civilian funding, where the safety and comfort of most citizens is maxed out alongside the development of new materials and armour for the military defending the island itself. First initially ruled by Edwin Islaih, the first emperor of humanity, he led the several cities in the area to be first built, enlisting the very foundation of humanity's survival straight from the get-go. This commitment has proven to give humanity the second chance it needed to try and defend itself against the Ushilion, despite there being no major contact from them since the Empire's arrival. The Empire itself has had to deal with several rebellions who believed that humanity was doomed to fall, and they were only lying to the people when saying that they could prevail against such an invading threat. These were quickly shut down, as the military was now better trained and equipped than the previous era had shown. Its arsenal consists of many melee weapons, but a few divisions have access to firearms collected and modified from the evacuation of Alkryte, as well as several bowmen and crossbowmen divisions. The cannons range from the standard mobile artillery units found on fields and around towns to the siege cannons that mechanically lay down large suppressive fire from the walls of the greater cities. Some variants of rotary cannons have been in the making and are the recent R&D project for the current Empress's concerns.

Gertruga, the heart of the Empire. One of the furthest cities from the eastern Coastline, the city of Gertruga follows a river leading towards the Grand Lake in the centre of the nation. Whilst the Grand Lake, which is more of a small sea, is mostly left untouched, the tributaries leading towards it spawn the greatest walled settlements in the entire nation. Gertruga is one of those many settlements, and definitely the biggest. It is separated into three sections, the upper, middle and lower districts. The lower district sits on the opposite end of the river from the Imperial Fortress and makes up the vast majority of the city's settlers. Though it holds the name of the 'lower' district, it is in fact very well civilised and controlled by law enforcement. Like most places in the Empire, the citizens are treated fairly under the direct rule of the Empress. As for the Fortress, it stands as being the greatest and most dense creation in humanity's existence. There are plenty of predictions revolving around how deep and defended it is, but none of them are 100% accurate. Most soldiers posted there claim they haven't even seen the throne room or counsel-hall. A series of thin and wide tunnels dig down and deep into the mountain it houses itself within. Whilst being the perfect evacuation point, some predict that its purpose was to house as much of humanity's survivors as possible in the event of a second Ushilion invasion. The Fortress has grown in defensive capabilities overtime, and now is equipped with the latest artillery, the grandest musket divisions and greatest vantage points.

Being the main settlement and city in the Northern Rainforest region of Limpith, Harther is famously known as the Hanging City. Built around and within a great waterfall of the same name, Harther acts as one of the more simpler cities. With a slightly different culture to that of most cities, the general work that is found in this city includes 'Cliff-Hanging' forms of work. Cliff-Hanging, as the name suggests, utilises an advanced cable and rope system to those who take up the job, allowing them to scale the cliffsides, ascend and descend and move horizontally across. The city is spaced out with its districts, each being built onto the sides of different parts of the cliff. Thought to be one of the greatest wonders of human creation, Harther is definitely a great home for all who abide by their more traditional culture.

The smallest of all the cities, Juliana sits atop a mountain peak located on the eastern side of the nation, nearby the coast. Officially a military post, it allows some citizens to live there and can also act as a major training camp for those under-going combat scenarios. The servicemen usually remain on duty here, if not in Gertruga. Fortified with the walls and aligned with many cannons and artillery capabilities, this siege-resistant base acts as the Forward Operating Fortification-Base in the event of the Ushilion arrival, though it is still after centuries of existing waiting to be put to the test.

Turan is known as being the technological home to humanity. Utilising the highest vein-mines of Reshu Crystals, this city usually houses many different researchers under the Imperial command of the Empress. Whilst they focus on trying to mechanically improve artillery and the recent addition of hand-held cannons and firearms, they have also been the soul purpose for the Servicemen's weapons. Seeing as the weapons are rich in Reshu Crystals, the city of Turan was the ideal spot for their creation, making unique and experimental weaponry all for each individual serviceman.

The Servicemen are the official division assigned to combating the Ushilion, at least they initially were. Whilst they have been around for the greatest period of time in the Empire, they seemed to have become a shadow of its once former-self, where the lack of Ushilion has made them more of a bodyguard for the Emperors and Empresses of the Imperial system. Though, without a doubt, they are greater than the average soldier, usually given specialised armour that they can easily customise themselves, as well as a vast array of some-what powerful weapons both modified by themselves and by mages around. Whilst the military defend the cities if an invasion was to occur, these servicemen, both male and female, would be the first ones to intercept the Ushilion in the field, and eventually be taken for an expedition into the original homeland of humanity. They work in teams, usually given distinctive names to differentiate them from other teams, of four to six. As for their history, the Servicemen go as far back as the creation of the Empire, but their concept was based off of a rag-tag taskforce created by the Kiriton Dynasty shortly before their complete downfall. Though the Ushilion did overwhelm the entire dynasty within the course of three and a half weeks, the Throne-holder managed to enlist the best of her fighters to band together and defend the Capital with their might. Though many state that the Capital fell instantly, it was a fact that it managed to defend itself for another three days since its initial attack. Though many lives were claimed, it is said that some of the more terrifying creatures were killed off before the Throne-holder died off. Their weapons were powerful and somewhat legendary, rumoured to still be within the original Capital of humanity. Though its difficult to live up to their name, the Servicemen are under their name and legacy as the new blade-wielders designed to combat the Ushilion.

The Servicemen do have a rank structure, however, which is easily identifiable and basic in its size. Unlike the regular military divisions, such as the cavalry, footmen and artillery branches, the rank system isn't terribly large, thus being easy to memorise. Certain ranks are required to enter a sub-division in the military, which is smaller and considered to be the most elite unit humanity has to offer, the only branch to officially top the Servicemen. Serviceman The Serviceman is the basic role and rank of the similarly named branch of the military. The only significance to this rank is that it splits into multiple sections and roles. The Ranger is usually the light-weight Servicemen who focus on fast-paced movement, such as light weapons of range or small-melee weapons. Following onward, there are the Rankers, the medium classed marksmen and fighters. These include larger blades and more stationary ranged weapons. Finally, the Defender is the heavier role for the Servicemen. The defenders are mostly used for, as you'd imagine, defending the rest of the servicemen with larger two-hand weaponry. However, they can also be quite ruthless when attacking, making them quite essential to a team. Upper Serviceman The Upper Serviceman is more of a optional promotion, which gives small leadership over a few other servicemen. They are more acting as a second-in-command to the High Serviceman. There isn't a lot of power given to this rank, but it does serve as a commanding role towards the lowest of servicemen. High Serviceman The High Serviceman controls a 'Team', usually consisting of three to five other servicemen underneath their authority. This is the role that handles individual orders underneath a Captain. Once a battle or task is given, the High Serviceman is responsible for composing battles and tactics when it comes to individual fighting. Useful in urban environments, where a Captain would find it difficult to micromanage all the teams under his or her command. After this rank, the Serviceman has the option to either be promoted to Captain or switch to a black-operations Imperial unit, unknown to most sources. Captain The Captain is a very straightforward role. A Captain has control over multiple teams, between 5 and 15 depending on their skill and respect throughout the Imperial authority. They continue to organise and orchestrate larger and more open battles, especially ones that are planned and acted upon by Imperial High Command. Centurion The Centurion commands a unit of 15 captains maximum, hence the name, and acts as a high-ranking commander for the Imperial Servicemen. They can issue battle-plans and small raids for the Imperial military, making the key decisions and directing the overall operations that the teams, captains and support units. The Centurion also had the disposal of normal Imperial Army units for effective operation-making. Imperial Honour Guard The Imperial Honour Guard is where the Servicemen age and thrive in the highest loyalty to the Empress. They manage the shifts of city defence and the Empress' protection. They have been credited for quelling several assassination attempts every year from human settlers who believe that the Empire are a lie, not being the safe haven as it claimed to be. These Guards are given the more incredible weaponry; this is where the elite who haven't moved to the Black-Operations unit thrive and prove their skills. Imperial Honour Centurion Members of the High Imperial Command, the Imperial Honour Centurions are small in numbers, but act as the Commanding Chief-Officers for the entire Military. These Centurions all own an outrageously large fortification each, most of which are surrounding key-cities and major outposts throughout the Nation. Whilst the Honour Centurion may not appear to be as effective as a regular Centurion on the battlefield, the Honour Centurion maintains all logistics, support, tactical weaponry and orders for the Servicemen. It is unclear how many Honour Centurions currently are active in duty, only speculations say that the numbers are low and around the same amount as the fortifications in existence. However, because no one can predict how many forts exist, some being beneath the surface of the nation, no one can pinpoint the number accurately.

Welcome to the, hopeful, first chapter to the Reshusia series I have planned. A narrative fantasy/horror experience has been created to convey the experiences of characters when forced up against a foe like no other. In this roleplay, it'll focus on the current generation of the Servicemen, a personal tool for the empress consisting of warriors trained specifically to fight the Ushilion. However, as the threat of Ushilion invaders are not present, the focus on combating these monsters has dwindled downwards to the point of being unprepared. This is the resulting reason towards what'll be an early defeat as we take of the role of these characters in a struggle to balance the chances of survival in their homeland, where the invasion has officially begun. Here, in this first 'Episode' in the series, we focus on the lower ranked Servicemen and their journey through the defence of the homeland. The character sheet will have some restrictions, but only minor ones, such as a certain age gap viable for these characters as well as ranks and weaponry. Feel free to change the look of the CS to your own personal liking, as long as it has the relevant information and important segments within it. Also feel free to add segments of your own. If no image is given, this will need to be quite heavily detailed. Attire Most members of the Servicemen have their own attire and equipment, but they do look mostly the same. Seeing as their armour is completely adjustable in appearance to suit the performance of each member, it can be altered. Most, however, have a similar look as this, this or this. However, this is totally free-moving, as long as it remains somewhat reasonable. Personality Simple self-explanatory part.
Serviceman Team Will be decided when we finalise the CSs. Serviceman Rank Most of the characters will simply be Servicemen, however I will open one, two if we get more interest, positions for an Upper-Servicemen to add some form of authority to the group. For the servicemen, make sure you notify what role they have out of the three listed in the Index. Weaponry The weaponry will be the heart of the description. Here is where the main creativity goes into. Be creative, but don't be too wild with what you make. Make sure you mention the crystal it uses and the enhancement it provides. I'm pretty sure the rules in most RPs are the same as here, so I cannot really imagine I need to explain said rules. If there are any questions as to the interest or parts of this Roleplay, please let me know whenever you please.
