[b][color=#922B21]Life Before Red Lake[/color][/b] I lived in Chicago, Illinois for the better part of 20 years with my family. I never knew what it was like to live in a home with both parents around. My parents separated before I hit 2 years of age, and kept quite a hostile relationship over the years. By the age of 8, I'd realized the kind of damage that broken-from-the-start relationship was having on my mother even though they no longer shared a love for one another. My mother was a waitress and a bartender, and when she'd come home from her bar job she'd nearly pass out as soon as she got through the door at night. Simple social drinking was never enough to kill the pain I wasn't aware she was facing at that time, so she would indulge in large quantities of the harder liquors. By the time I turned 12, she was on her deathbed. Liver failure and such were taking her, and shortly before I'd turned 13 she passed away.

It wasn't long after that I was sent off to live with my father, who was already starting a family of his own. A wife, two young step children and a newborn son of his own. Spent the majority of the next year and a half being their own personal Cinderella. Once I made it to 8th-grade graduation, my grandmother {mom's mom} took me in and raised me on her own. I completed my high school career under her care, got a job and went out for my permit as soon as I could {age 16} and started saving up as much as I could to get out of Chicago. When I was 17, my favorite cousin Charlie was going through a rough time. He seemed to be unhinged and simply just not himself. It worried me, and one night I'd decided to go over to his place with a little surprise [sub]joint[/sub] for him. To my unknown displeasure, it was his first full moon and he wasn't exactly aware of what was really wrong with him. In his mind, he was [i]sick[/i]. With what, he was completely unaware. That night while I went to check on him, he managed to scratch me.. which in turn [i]infected[/i] me.

I spent my first full moon in Thatcher Woods, away from society. I was lucky enough to know what was wrong with me, and knew what would happen. I didn't want to repeat what my cousin had done to me, so I spent my first 2 years in my other form roaming the different woods of Illinois. Every other month I'd drive out to a different one to test it out, see which I'd like better. At the age of 20, after several odds and ends jobs, I finally had enough to move away.

Enter Red Lake. Shortly after my 20th birthday, I'd moved into the area and quickly picked up a job at the B&B as a maid as well as finally started my first semester of college at Le Cordon Bleu in Pittsburg. After a year or so there, I went out for the chef position at the B&B, to which I landed and started immediately. Been doing that gig ever since. Not long after, I saw an advertisement for the position at the ranch. What I make at the B&B along with my Photography side work I was already making enough to keep me at a comfortable place, but figured I could get it for some extra cash as well as the exercise the job would give me. The extra pent up energy from being what I am, it helps immensely.

[b][color=#922B21]Thoughts On Riley Walker:[/color][/b] Riley is a co-worker of mine. She's real nice, never has a problem with anyone.. always shows for her shifts on-time. When she didn't show up for work the day she'd gone missing, I knew something was wrong. I overheard her parent's concerns while in the break room. I'm sure not long after they'd gotten off from work they went to file the report, but it didn't surface to the public until the following day. With the brutal murder of the mayor so fresh in everyone's mind, it wasn't long before the term 'serial killer' was being tossed around. I just hope Riley is okay, and the whispers aren't true.

[b][color=#922B21]Thoughts On The Murder:[/color][/b] It was brutal. And the writing in blood? We have a definite psychopath on our hands. The way his body was mutilated, though.. it doesn't appear human. [b][color=#F1C40F]Life In Red Lake:[/color][/b] Life in Red Lake has been quiet, for the most part. And pretty normal, honestly. It was normal for me up until I hit my teenage years. The year I turned 13, I also turned into something much more troubling than a teenager. I was infected by a werewolf. The night when I was attacked is honestly still quite a blur to me. I can't remember much detail to save my life.. all I can remember is that a few friends of mine and I had been wandering the woods just outside of town when I got plowed over by some great furry beast {later I'd figure out just what it was}. It tore at me with such furousity that I could have sworn I was going to die right then and there. My friends at the time stood there watching in horror for what seemed like forever before they finally came out of their daze and chased it back into the darkness it sprung from.

It wasn't long before the symptoms hit me. A few days, maybe? It was like the flu, but a thousand times worse; honestly felt like I was dying. The closer the full moon came, the heavier the sickness came on. My cousin Taylor flew in to see me that summer, and while I was going through the transition she took care of me while my parents were away at work. The night of the full moon, neither of us expected what had happened. It was pretty early into the night when I began to feel the pain as my body began shifting into another form. Taylor panicked and went to call 911, but before she could get a word in with the operator, she was staring into the eyes of a wolf who stared right back at her. She told me she tried to run out of the house, but that's when I chased after her and bit her in the ankle. My first change, I infected someone. Not just any someone, but [i]family[/i].

Ever since that first night, Taylor and I have stayed in very close contact with one another. Sharing things we find out along the way about our "new selves", how to make certain things easier and whatnot. Now that Taylor has been living in the area for the last two years, roughly, it's been a hell of a lot easier dealing with everything. My parents don't know about my secret, and I plan to keep it that way. The less they know, the better, in my opinion. For now, I just attend school but I'll go out to look for a job, most likely soon. Get a handle on this Senior Year first before I try attempting to get a job. It's been hard enough balancing going to school, sports and exercising the beast within me.

I wouldn't quite say she was a friend of mine, but we were friendly enough to wave and smile to one another when we'd pass by on the streets. Occasionally stop to say hi and ask how the other was doing. Simple things. I don't see Riley as a run-away type, so I'd have to say with the recent murder that took place, she is potentially another victim to the killer on the loose. I hope they find her before something happens to her. It'd be a shame to lose a smile like that in our community. 

[b][color=#F1C40F]Thoughts On The Murder:[/color][/b] Honestly? The guy was a total douche. I tend to stay away from any kind of politics, especially that of our own town. I don't feel any kind of sympathy for the guy's death, but I will say.. the scene was unbelievably brutal. Even for a guy as big of an asshole as he was, he didn't deserve to die that way. The way the body was torn, it didn't appear to be human. Has me wondering if maybe the wolf who turned me all those years ago has something to do with this, or if something bigger is on the line, here.

She tends to come off as kind of a bitch, but she's actually very nice if you get the chance to know her for who she really is. I'm not really 'sposed to talk about my past. My grandmother forbids it.. but what I can tell you is that we started out in Canada. I was born there, and learned very early that the life of a natural witch was not..... natural. Wasn't [i]normal[/i]. Both my mother and I are natural witches. My grandmother, however, sold her soul to the Devil to become one. We moved around a lot in Canada... we didn't tend to stay in one place for too long. It wasn't up until recently, within this last year that things went suddenly downhill. Rumors of hunters in the area sprang up and we did what everyone else was doing when they heard the news. We ran. To throw the scent off of our trail, my grandmother forced us to change bodies. I refused, but again, my grams forced it upon us. I told her I'd rather die, but eventually we compromised and she found me a girl who was already dying anyway. I still didn't like the idea, but it was better than taking someone's whole life from them.
We ran to the States and changed our names. I kept my birth-given first name as my current middle name, but changed the rest. To further keep our cover, we decided to split up as well. [b][color=black]Life Before Red Lake:[/color][/b] "I lived in San Diego my whole life. Met my wife there, and started our family of three before we even made it out of high school. I was 17 at the time, she was 16. We made it work, and we were happy. Once I completed high school, I spent the 6 months afterward fighting with myself on whether I should go into the military or not. I finally decided on going, after all, having to leave my wife and son behind. While I was away in Basic Training, they were involved in a hit-and-run. Neither of them survived. My wife stayed alive only long enough to get pulled from the wreckage and loaded up into the ambulance. On the drive to the hospital, she passed away. Her injuries were too severe.

After I received the news, I temporarily dropped off the face of the earth. My drill sergeant brought me back after having a talk with me. It's funny, these hardass guys you wouldn't think had a heart with the way they talk to ya'. He really opened my eyes that night of our talk. I devoted myself wholeheartedly to the military. I was top of the class. It wasn't long after I graduated from Basic that I was approached by a man with a proposition. After that, I became one of America's most lethal hunters. An assassin, of sorts. While out on a mission, I happened to be clawed-up by a target in question. Hence the facial scarring I have. Instead of disposing of me, my 'handlers' decided to use me and all of my... deviances.. to their own advantages. As long as I keep myself in check and don't go AWOL, they have no issues with me and let me go about my business. And I do so.

Was informed of my newest assignment just last week. I have been making my trek across the country since the moment I disconnected the call with my handler. My last mission was in Oregan.

[b][color=black]Life Before Red Lake:[/color][/b] There was never any "before", but [i]before[/i] this time that I came back, I left to New York with my family. We moved there just before I turned 7, and that's where we lived until I became of age. Once I hit that mark, I left my family and went off to join the army. I stayed in service for 8 years. I was turned by a 'night-stalker' while I was deployed in Iraq. I would have signed on for another 4 years with the Army had it not been for getting turned. It's been almost 2 years since it happened. I haven't seen the light of day, since. I decided it was time to come back home. It took me a bit to find some form of work, but eventually, I went into the only field I thought I could thrive in. Medical. Been a nurse ever since. Being a vampire isn't easy, especially in this small of a town, but honestly, I had nowhere else to go but back home. I couldn't go back to New York. I couldn't risk endangering my sister or mother.

[b][color=black]Life in Red Lake:[/color][/b] I've only been back for a few weeks. Didn't start showing my face around town till a few days before the disappearance happened. The cops were a bit suspicious of me afterwards.. It's only been until now that they've slowly started to back off. We'll see how this goes, from here.

[b][color=black]Thoughts On Riley Walker:[/color][/b] Haven't been back in the area long, but I've been gone longer than she was alive. Even with that, I heard quite a bit about her while staying at the B&B. She sounds like a good kid. Hope she turns up.

[b][color=black]Thoughts On The Murder:[/color][/b] I knew the victim's family well. Grew up spending quite a bit of time with them, both our parents were friends. Didn't really care much for the guy cause he was a major dick, but I [i]do[/i] feel for his family.
