Got my post done. Grabbed the captain and the (currently) unknown item from the safe and back to the ship in one fell swoop. Normally, I would do more of a fight sequence, but due to the interest of moving this along I elected to solve this quickly so feel free to imagine your own kick-ass fight scene.
