Kaida Beaumont

Luelle Haily
[@Lucius Cypher][@Luna] It was still bright and early in the city of Hosu. Despite that however, villainy never rests. Between the hustle and bustle of everyone getting to work, in the dark corners of the city villains were also getting busy. One particular alleyway had the misfortune of being a shortcut for a couple of middle schoolers. They were rich kids going to a private school, always flaunting their parent’s wealth around malls and arcades. Well someone took notice of all their big talk and decided to knock them down a peg. A tall boy in a gasmask cornered two snot-nosed kids in the alleyway. They made a lot of talk about how their quirks could defeat him, but all he had to do was take out his crowbar and the two were quick to back down. “Little shits like you… Are what’s wrong with today’s world. You’re in desperate need of some life lessons. So listen up.” The boy smashed his crowbar against the wall, causing the brick and mortar to crack and break. It certainly intimidated the two kids. “Money… Family… Shit like that doesn’t matter. Just power. And if you think you’re powerful, you got another thing coming. So come on… Use those quirks of yours. Let’s see if you’ve got what it takes to make it in this world!” The villain charged at the two kids as he was about to smash their heads open. Kaida was worried...the school was this way right? Oh she was going to be late for sure. She groaned inwardly as she looked at her Gps on her phone, then looked to the schools address. Did she type it in wrong? She looked up as a tall masked boy started yelling at some other kids. Smashing his crowbar against the wall. Egging the kids on as he suddenly charged them. “Arrête ça!” She yelled in her native tongue. It was supposed to be ‘stop that’. She knew Japanese, she was a quick learner. But speaking it constantly was still something new for her. She ran up between the three and put her arms out wide. She glared at the boy in front of her. “Pourquoi sont …” She paused. Realizing she was speaking French. “Why are you...being such an ass? What did these two do to you?” despite her soft voice, her tone was strong a defiant as someone twice her size. She didn’t want to fight this guy right now. She still had to get to school. Hopefully he would listen to reason and just leave. “What did they do? Nothing. Nothing at all. They’ve done nothing, and deserve nothing. If they want to keep their lives, then they can fight for it!” The tall boy didn’t slow down as he swung his iron bar right at Kaida’s face. Not even a moment of hesitation; he was out for blood. Nearby, Luelle walked, her suitcase dragging behind her. She was following a map her father provided for her of the town and was trying to find her way to the academy. Pursing her lips together she stopped and sighed. Picking up some noises down an alleyway, she ran for it, her boots making light thumps on the ground. Seeing what was happening, she gasped. “Hey! Leave those kids alone!” Luelle said. Kaida’s eyes narrowed dangerously when the boy tried to swing at her. She twisted her head out of the way slightly as it swung by her head, she then balled her hands into a fist and punched at him with a quick left jab at his chin and followed up with reaching forward with her right hand and grabbing his shoulder, then raising her knee she kneed him in the gut. This was when she heard another girl yell out. Luelle approached cautiously, her hands lighting up like a candle. Her right eye was surrounded by the same color flame, a beautiful blue color. She never been in a situation like this, so she had no idea what to do about this, but she knew she couldn't just let this continue. The tallboy staggered back from the girl. She was much stronger than she looked. Another girl showed up behind, trapping him in this alleyway. However this didn’t seem to bother him. No, instead he seemed quite glad. “Good… Good! That’s right! Fight for what you believe in! No one will give it to you!” The kid then pulled out a small lead pipe from underneath his hoodie as he raised his mask over his face. Suddenly from his mouth the entire alleyway filled with a thick, choking smog, practically blinding everyone caught inside. The girls would have only a few precious seconds before the smoke got to them, and for Kaida, she still had two middle schoolers behind her who were cowering in fear. Luelle immediately covered her nose and mouth with her free hand in an attempt to block out the smog. She inched her way close and swung her downward at an angle sending flames towards the boy. Most would expect the flames to be hot, as the blue flame was the hottest flame, according to science, but when the flames would touch the boy, it was the exact opposite. The flames felt like the coldest water ever. Kaida looked behind her to see the boys cowering, not looking towards her. She then looked back to see the new girl shoot flames from her hand. But she could tell...they weren’t normal flames. Blue fire would have been most welcoming to her. She could feel the heat...but not this fire. There was a lack of heat and it greatly disturbed her. But that wasn’t the point now as she held her breath and closed her eyes. Big black menacing wings sprouted from her back, but oddly did not tear through her clothes. Not that they would notice. Snapping open for a second before flaping a few times towards the smog. It took a moment but the smog was pushed back. Enough to keep the others safe. But she dove forward with one great push of her wings and aimed a punch at the boy, after he would have been struck by the lack of heat fire. The boy was shocked and surprised to feel cold flames. When he had spied Luelle behind him he was ready to get burned, but not chilled. Still it didn’t stop him, though it certainly slowed him down. The moment Luelle entered his smoke he charged right at her, his crowbar poised to smash her between the eyes. But it was at that same time that Kaida’s wings blew most of his smog away even as it continued to leak out from his mouth. This would give Luelle just a moment to see him come at her, and for Kaida she’d notice that he now turned towards her. What she’d also notice was that he had something else in his hand; a pipe bomb. And with a flick of his thumb, the explosive was armed and ready to explode. “Moment’s like this is what we live for!” Luelle gasped when she saw the boy rush at her with his crowbar and jumped to clear from his path grunting as she smacked her arm on the ground. That hurt. She looked and her bi colored eyes, which were back to their normal colors, widened when she saw a pipe bomb in his other hand. She stood in a hurry, stumbling a little bit as the bomb went from dormant to armed. ‘I need to find a way to freeze that bomb before it blows us to pieces!’ Luelle thought frantically. Kaida was in mid swing when she noticed the pipe bomb in his hand. This man was insane! Her fist was still aimed at the man's face as she hit him squarely in the jaw. She had no way to stop herself. Her eyes flicked to the pipe bomb in horror. Everything happened all at once. Kaida’s strike was true, hitting the man square in the mouth and breaking a few teeth. Surprisingly however, this didn’t knock him out as he returned with his own swing, slamming the crowbar towards her face. As for the pipe bomb, the moment he was struck he did loose his grip on it as it fell towards the ground near Luelle. But he didn’t care too much; all that mattered was the thrill of the fight and what it meant to get away from it alive. More foul smog leaked from his near broken teeth and was starting to fill the area. The pipe bomb began to tick even faster as the countdown was coming closer to zero. As Kaida was closest to him, she’d get a faceful of the poisonous cloud, burning her eyes and nose with its foul stench. Seeing the bomb get dropped near her, Luelle literally lunged for it landing hard on the ground once again, she winced. Her poor chest was going to be sore later. She grabbed it and about panicked when the countdown because to move faster, but she took a deep breath. Now was not the time for that. She needed to concentrate. Closing her eyes and her eye lighting up again, she slowly snaked her flame to surround the little pipe bomb. There was a small bit of heat coming off is flame unlike her first one. Seeing that she would be unable to take out the bomb before it exploded, she manipulated the flames to create like a small vacuum seal from the inside, trapping the expecting explosion. Sweat dripped from her forehead, she never done something like this and it was a bit harder to control, but if she could keep the explosion down to the minimum, everyone would be safe. Kaida grunted as she noticed the bar coming towards her face. She manipulated her face enough to reveal her true skin. Black scales covered half of her face. The bar hit side of the face but glanced off. Poison burned her eyes and nose now. Growling in a much deeper tone, she grabbed the boy by the neck and forced her eyes open. He would now be looking down at gold eyes that were slitted just like a snake. Deep anger seemed to seep into the air as she tightened her grip on his neck a few seconds before throwing him hard into a nearby dumpster. “The bomb!” She coughed as he throat burned. Luelle, feeling her strength wavering a bit, decided that she couldn't hold on enough to her makeshift vacuum. She began to lower the temperature of the flame easily, the flame freezing the bomb until it was completely encased in thick, unnatural, blue ice. Throwing it away from her; Luelle panted and leaned against the brick of the building near her. “There, the bomb...is....deactivated” she panted out her power vanishing and her eyes clenched closed as she tried to regain her strength. The villain was tossed into the dumpster, suffering from multiple broken teeth and a shattered rib. But still alive. He tried to get up but his stamina was just running out. A solid blow to the face, his neck severely damaged, and at least one broken rib, and the evil doer was out cold. His pipebomb rendered inert thanks to Luelle’s cold flames. The smog rose to the sky without the villain controlling it, and soon the two middle schoolers called the police about what had happened. It wasn’t long before two officers arrived to the scene. After the police arrived, they captured the villain, removing all weapons from him including four more pipe bombs. The middle schoolers were sent back to their homes while the two heroes-in-training were asked to stay behind to confirm the events of the attack. An officer who looked like a large monkey was taking notes. “First, allow me to thank you two for your efforts. While the law does not condone vigilante activities, nor for others to use quirks to harm others, in a situation like this where the lives of innocent people are on the line we thank you for the sacrifices you’re willing to take. You are not in trouble, however we will need your names for our records.” As soon as Kaida heard more footsteps she quickly hid her scales and wings again with her shapeshifting ability. Looking once again like a normal person. She listened to the officer and sighed. She was definitely going to be late now… She nodded before saying “je m'appel…” Sighing once more. “My name is Kaida Beaumont… I really need to get to school officer. I’m going to be late for my first day…” She said softly, her hands folded in front of her. Luelle stood and looked at the police officers. She leaned against the wall and shook her head. “My name is Luelle Haily. I agree with my friend here. We really need to get to school. I would hate to be late at a time like this.” she turned to the middle schoolers. “Please careful. There are more people like him out there and they are extremely dangerous ok?” She said in a soft but kinda scolding voice. The officer nodded his head. “Alright. Just a few more questions and you're free to go.” Sure enough after the two girls finished their questions they were released. The officers gave them a ride to Komei and gave both of them slips to excuse their tardiness due to villainous interference. The police officers left out what exactly Luelle and Kaida did, but the note did mention that they cooperated with police and they were thankful for their bravery. Currently, there was no one outside to meet the two girls, leaving them to their own devices once they got inside the school gates. Kaida was quiet the entire ride from the place they fought to the school. Her vision was to the outside as she watched the people walk by. Her hands wrung themselves in her school uniform skirt. She didn’t know what to say to...Luelle? Luelle Haily, Was that what she called herself? She called her a friend? Really? She just met her! That doesn’t make sense. Words were stuck in her mouth. She tried this many times on her trip to Japan. Try to start a conversation, but it always turned into this. This awkward silence that enveloped her and made her nervous and shy. What’s more, she was about to go to school… she never went to school. EVER. She was privately tutored, and didn’t even know how to make new friends really. She gripped Jeans...no her sword’s pommel and held it tight to her to comfort herself as she got even more nervous. What would the other kids think of her? Would she be weird? Would she say something stupid and lose their respect? Her Japanese was good...but she still would say the wrong words, or revert to French. She knew she was accepted into the school...but if she met The Frenchman...would he look at her, realize who she was and be on guard? She never heard of any villain’s children attending a hero school. Sighing, she started to regret her decision to come here. It was stupid. Once they figure out who she is...or what she was...nobody would want to talk to her. Nobody wanted to talk to her after they found out she was Draco Beaumont’s daughter back home. Once there, the officer gave them some slips explaining their reason for being so late. That should help them right? But now she was standing at the front gate with Luelle. Pinching her lip and chin as she looked away for a moment before finally saying…”Um...thank you...for your help earlier.” She said softly like a mouse. She could have seen her transform, and she didn’t know what she would think about that.
