His suit is also decidedly unusual in both its shape and make, being like a jumpsuit with a single black skin-tight underlayer and white gloves, boots, a belt, and a collar. There is the symbol of his family placed off center on his chest, reminiscent of a “D” though slightly distorted. His hair is usually messy, and painstakingly dyed black every day, the nature of his physiology, and that of his hair in particular, often bleeds the color out by the time forty eight hours pass, and in much shorter time if he uses his powers often. His glowing green eyes are usually safe to be seen during the day without raising suspicion, but a pair of sunglasses are never far out of his reach. His clothes are a hodge podge collection of plain brands, band tees, and a small collection of hoodies and hats to hide his hair in for lazy days. It's the symbol of the portal used to banish his kind into the ecto-star.

Costumed Personality: Echo is easily amused, quick to make jokes, especially those that might terrify his enemies, though he also loves when they banter back. He delights in popping out of dark shadows or suddenly appearing around corners to spook his opponents. He's also not known for playing it easy, often hitting hard and only restraining himself from dealing severe damage, though he might leave a scar or three. Civilian Personality: Shy is the best way to describe Ezra, though studious and intelligent also come to mind, shy is simply the most obvious of his assumed personality, and also the most important. It's decidedly difficult to conceal his alien nature when in close or intimate relationships, so Ezra works hard and keeps his head down, sometimes enjoying outings with his peers during the day, but never staying long into the afternoon and never at night. Super Abilities: -Skills:

Growing up in a family of scientists and engineers, Edan came to Earth with a superior education to even the modern college graduate, though his knowledge on many subjects was not particularly useful in his new life and he had to study relentlessly to catch up on certain skills before even considering attending an American college. His natural intelligence and advantageous origins did come in handy in some subjects however, specifically around certain types of technology, and the scientific fields of chemistry, physics, and astrology.
-Powers:

Ecto-Being: Echo has been ‘infinitized’ which is a term his people use to describe being converted into an ectoplasmic life form. Ectoplasm is suspected to be a material not native to this universe, or dimension, and thus behaves unusually, giving off large amounts of unique energy. This energy can be used by ectoplasm based technologies or life forms to obtain and fuel their powers. This allows him to exists entirely off his own energy output, requiring neither to eat, drink, or breathe, though he must do the latter in order to talk.
Ecto-Energy Manipulation: Echo can manipulate the very energy his body is made of, usually in the form of shooting super charged blasts of the glowing green energy out of his hands, but also by making barriers of it to repel attacks. A large amount of the energy can be expelled from him all at once in an explosive wave, but though effective such a move would also incapacitate him until he had a chance to recharge, and similarly by expending a large amount of ecto-energy over time by overusing other abilities would also weaken and eventually incapacitate him. Another use is to coat objects or beings in a field of energy in order to extend his other powers to them.
Flight: Ectoplasm has a unique relationship with gravity, largely due to being an element with excessive amounts of innate energy as well as having suspicious origins possibly not of this dimension- essentially it ignores gravity when it wants to, and obeys as it wills. Being made of said substance gives Echo the ability to fly as he wishes.
Intangibility and Invisibility: Much like ectoplasm’s wishy washy relationship with gravity, it can have similar reactions to most kinds of light and matter, thus allowing Echo to become invisible and still see, and become intangible and still breathe, but only for short periods of time as both are taxing and take focus.
-Weaknesses/Vulnerabilities/Power Negations:

Blood Blooms: A type of alien flower, with red petals and thorny black stems. They look surprisingly Earth-like but they feed on a rare kind of ectoplasmic radiation abundant on Ghol that's rare on Earth. They can be found in colder climates in the American Northwest scattered in dirty corners around major population centers, and though they look sickly and shriveled compared to their huge blooms on Ghol they can still suck the energy from Echo at a quick and painful pace.
Trauma Coma: Though Echo needs no air to breathe, and thus can't be choked out, he can still lose consciousness if subjected to enough force.
Physical Attacks: Granted some small resistance to energy based attacks, Echo is actually weaker against physical strikes which work to disrupt his own energy and break his form. This weakness explains his tendency to fight from range when weakened or uncertain, but is easily exploitable when Echo is feeling confident and chatty.
-Gadgets:

Zon Tube: Essentially a handheld prison cell, Echo’s in fact. This was used on him when he first became ‘infinitized’ and was banished to Zon. It’s cap shows the green hex framed by grey that symbolizes the Gate to Zon portal. It's use is in destabilizing ectoplasm and storing it for short periods of time, an item he has yet to need but held onto anyway. It works only on ectoplasm however, and is damaging to normal Ectonians and can destroy ecto-technology, but has no effect on other organisms or objects.
Life Pod: The pod is not very big, large enough only for a single person to fit comfortably inside, perhaps two if they are especially small, and is equipped with several emergency systems. One of these is the cryo-function, meant to freeze the passenger to prevent starving or worsening injuries until help can arrive. Another is virtual intelligence radio system, programmed to aid passengers in surviving until help arrives or assist them to reaching help themselves. Last is the ecto-charge, making the pod essentially an ectoplasmic power source capable of charging ecto-technology.
-Weapons: None. Civilian Occupation: Part-time student at CCU, part-time gym clerk at Buffy’s, and occasional fill-in for a waiter at the Small Café. Biography --------- Character History/Origin: Echo was born under the name Edan Fo-To D’sra, second child of Emad Fo-Fen and Edj To-To, his mother and father, the founders of House D’sra. They were brilliant scientists, but considered odd by the rest of their people because of their fascination with Zon. Perhaps the naming scheme gave it away, but you see, Echo was not born on Earth, instead he was born on a small cold world orbiting a most perplexing star. That world was called Ghol, the tiny city where he grew up was called Lans, and the people that lived on that world called themselves Ectonians- or that is the best translation available at least. All life on Ghol was shaped by Zon, the Ecto-Star, a massive collection of ectoplasmic energy unlike anything the Ectonians had come across before settling on Ghol. Gradually the Ectonians came to rely on the unique star for sustenance, acquiring an almost photosynthetic-like ability to harness it, as did all life on the planet, absorbing small amounts of ecto-radiation to become stronger, faster, lighter, and infinite other tiny applications for the trace amounts of ectoplasm now collecting in their bodies. Ghol was the only world in that system however, and it had grown lazy and content, letting much of their advanced technology stagnate and regress. So when the two geniuses Emad and Edj began studying Zon and managed to turn ectoplasm into a power source for machines, they started a technological revolution that would end in the greatest series of catastrophes the planet would ever see. As new industries sprung up, the Ectonians were desperate for more ectoplasm and, because the planet was so close to the star, they began using a powerful portal device called the ‘Gate to Zon’ to send small expeditions out to harvest ectoplasm straight from the star’s thin atmosphere, which did not melt or burn for reasons the Ectonians never discovered. A mere decade after these expeditions started Edan was thirteen years old and living in the most expensive house on the planet, though that wealth was not visible in taste or looks but in sheer value of the technology being designed and assembled there, but that changed when Zon got his vengeance on the mortal thieves; a massive lash of ectoplasm, much like an overcharged solar flare, burst out from the star and raked across the surface of the planet, killing thousands and spawning the first of the ‘infinitized.’ These were not just Ectonians, but also other creatures from Ghol that had evolved the ability to harness ecto-radiation, the ability was turned against them and used to overload their cells until all that was left was ectoplasm in the mold of the organism they had once been, some ‘molds’ more accurate than others. All of the infinitized creatures were shoved through the Gate of Zon, deemed too dangerous to try and kill. Soon after they discovered that the former organic creatures could now survive in Zon’s atmosphere, a foggy green place interspersed with floating islands of ectoplasm-contaminated minerals, and with that discovery came the law to banish the infinitized Ectonians as well. That was the theme for the next few years, Edan found his life turned upside down as his world began to die, struck five more time by flares from Zon, and his parents struggling to save them. Then, as he turned nineteen and left on a trip to deliver aid to a Zon-struck city, Edan was caught in the lash of the seventh flare. Becoming infinitized was the single most painful experience of his life, and immediately following it was twelve days surrounded by others who’d been struck, trapped in a wasteland with both those whose very minds and bodies had been corrupted and those who had remained mostly whole but too horrified and grief stricken to do anything but fall apart. On the beginning of the thirteenth day, whilst fleeing from one of the more crazed individuals, Edan was captured in a Zon Tube and banished through the Gate. He was there for barely a month, eking out an existence amongst the few sane he had found, when he was contacted by a mysterious alien from deeper inside the ecto-star. He and his group were offered the chance to escape, and through agreeing they found themselves locked in ancient life pods riddled with ectoplasm and launched into deep space on separate courses. Edan crash landed on Earth alone, roused from his long sleep within the pod and then began the long and arduous process of learning to fit in. He was grateful to have escaped the bleak light of Zon, and his desolate and despairing homeworld, but when he discovered his trip to Earth had taken a little over two hundred years he nonetheless worried and wondered over what had become of Ghol and his family. Now it is three years past his arrival on Earth, Edan is now Ezra Loe, who sometimes visits the Small Café which may or may not be frequented by a couple other secret aliens. He works hard to disguise himself, and struggles with the pressure of forcing himself to keep others at arm's length lest he end up on a government dissection table. Even as he tries to keep his head down, he does his damndest to succeed anyway, trying hard to pull in enough money to survive and fund his education, dreaming of the stars and a job he knows he’ll never get. All the while others are stirring, breaking out of their shells just enough that Ezra thinks of becoming Echo. Fun Facts:

When Echo blushes or bleeds, the color is neon green.
Ectonians naturally have various blue or green shades of skin, but when Echo was infinitized some of his old looks were changed, including rounding his ears from the naturally pointed Ectonian ears.
Ectonians were not deeply religious, but they had many beliefs regarding their ancestors, spirits, and Zon, all of which culminated in Echo translating the Ectonian name for Zon’s peculiar ‘spiritual’ or ‘spectral’ energy into the human word ectoplasm.
Echo has had no luck finding other Ectonians or even a whisper of their existence since coming to Earth.
Echo always wanted to be a space explorer, and has now set his sights on the unattainable dream of being a human astronaut.
Ectoplasm absorbs heat, making rooms begin to chill when Echo enters them, and he is always cold to touch, but an ecto-blast will still leave burns behind regardless of if the energy ‘feels’ cold
The guise of ‘Echo’ as a hero was born out of Ezra fantasizing about being free and using his powers, using them for good was an afterthought really, he just wanted to stop hiding somehow.
Optional information ---------- Allies:

Benjamin Bello: A middle aged alien from a planet called Tamaran, he is a staunch pacifist and vegetarian, thus why he hides on Earth pretending to be human instead of on Tamaran enjoying the warrior culture and large feasts. He is a friend of Ezra’s who figured out he was an alien and invited him to the Small Café, which is run by an alien and thus automatically having the patronage of every alien in the city, though that number is few. She's curious about her seemingly shy coworker, and sometimes they share friendly banter, but they aren't close.
[s]Lauren and Kyle Cassidy[/s]: Both mother and son are of an unknown red-skinned alien species, and Ezra suspects them to be telepaths, or empaths at least. They're quite friendly, but like most other aliens are quite secretive and cautious with others. They have a way to darken their skin, appearing brown skinned as opposed to their natural red, allowing them to pass for human, and they seem to have entrenched themselves in the human world quite well. The headpiece can be somewhat more varied; at times Hex can be seen in his human visage, but usually this is only when he is in a safe location or surrounded by friends. Alternatively there is a hood that can be pulled, matching the outfit with dark fabric and purple lines, and bespelled to stay up and hide the top of his face in shadow- except for the two glowing eyes. There’s also a helmet variant, safe to work on motorcycles, underwater, or even in space. The last layer comes in the form of a shapeshifting spell, allowing him to take the glowing form of an Anodite, used in more demanding situations and never for purely cosmetic reasons though looking like a glowing alien does wonders for concealing his identity. Tom has been warned not to rely on the spell however, as Anodites are a peculiar species and so very inhuman it could become detrimental to overuse the form. Nowadays he fills his time with one of three things; video games, as all geeks must, school, as all kids must, and magic, of which there is no doubt he must pursue. His father has not always taken him with him, and often leaves him behind for the more dangerous or lengthy excursions, worried either for his life or his grades, but Tom tags along when he can, and studies when he can't. A schism came about among the gods, though the fall of Greece and rise of Roman personas was but a small point in the many arguments. Colluding with the more chaotic members of the pantheon, Ares and his allies devised a plan to create an army loyal only to them, which would go forth to take over the world so they could rule it as not only gods, but kings. Their decline was unsalvageable though, as when their idea began to gain momentum through coercion and trickery, they started a brawl among the gods that would leave the newly finished island of warrior men trapped beyond the world’s reach, and it's populace cursed to be empathetic to others so as to harm their effectiveness as mindless bloodthirsty warriors. The plot was defeated, for the moment, but not beyond salvaging. In the beginning the gods behind the island’s creation visited often, teaching their people the lessons they valued, and outlining their purpose. They named the land Arkos, and the people there were gifted with everything they could want or need. Nearly a century after the first men were created Kassan was sculpted from clay and given life by Ares and Aphrodite, and blessed in turn by each of the war god’s allies. He would be their champion, and he was to be raised by the Arkosian king Chrysetos, and trained to be the gods’ weapon against the mundane human empires- and the other gods that would stand in their way. As time went on however, the gods visited less and less, the ley lines of the world had grown too weak to power any methods of travel, and while the gods had little trouble with it their army remained trapped, forever preparing for an event that was getting further and further away the weaker the planet became. So the Arkosians remained in their ‘paradise’, an island forever cast with an empty night sky, no sun or moon, only a cycle of light and dark with no apparent source. They had abundant food, the sea never lacking fish, the farms never suffered famines, nor were their seasons, no rain or snow or even thunderstorms, and the mines never lacked ore, the forest always grew back, the earth never shook. Despite the perfect picture the idea made, their home was constantly under threat, invaded by monsters and demons of other realms, and while the Arkosians never aged or fell ill, their skill as warriors was always being tested, and all too often they failed. So was the cycle; babies were sculpted from clay, or brought to the island, and all were made warriors, and lived their lives until the next invasion, their numbers on a slow but steadily rising trend. The island had other mysteries however, not all of which were known by the Arkosians, such things as time moving faster for the world outside, and betrayals from within causing violence amongst their numbers. Kassander grew to love his family, his people, and their gods- especially those that were his creators. He dedicated himself to his mission, and prepares himself for the day the ley lines are strong enough for him to carry out his first task and cross over to the human world. Generally they are human-like in shape, with human-like faces and the same number and location of limbs, their head-tentacles even behaving like and being mistaken for hair. Most do not wear clothes, their forms being made more of mana than organs helps them get away with it in most clothes-wearing societies, but it's not unheard of for them to be dressed or wearing accessories.

Behavior: Anodites are fickle and free spirited, and not just because they can fly, though that may contribute to their haughty demeanors. Many view themselves as superior beings, a step above most other forms of life, and are often arrogant and selfish especially in regards to non-Anodites. That isn't to say they're evil or incapable of compassion, in fact quite a few wandering Anodites have gotten involved in this or that disaster or struggle to help others not of their kind, but they do hold a preference for prioritizing themselves over others and disregarding outside opinions entirely. Life Cycle: As children Anodites are harmless and curious, but at around age eighteen they begin to mature and come into their powers and independence. It takes until they are seventy-five years old to come fully into adulthood and their power to stop growing quite so rapidly. Afterwards their aging begins to taper off and their power growth relies more on circumstance than natural internal reserves. Anodites do not get elderly, instead living until they are ended by forces other than aging. Abilities:

Flight: The power to fly unaided.
Magic: The ability to use magical forces/powers to a significant degree.
Mana Manipulation: The ability to manipulate the blanket of sentient energy that is used to form magic. Appears a glowing violet, can be used as a simple energy blast or shield, or otherwise utilized to shape or influence magical energy.
Mana-Telepathy: The ability to communicate via thought with other beings who utilize magical energy.
Space Survivability: Can survive and adapt to the vacuum of space unaided and are able to withstand atmospheres (heat intensity and any poisonous chemical elements), cosmic media (radiation), strange gravity, and lack of air.
Limited Body Creation: Anodites can force their bodies to outwardly change species but retain their Anodite genetics. They can use this to become human, or a similar humanoid species, and even reproduce with said species, but their offspring would be of that species, not an Anodite, though some amount of Anodite genetics would be passed down, altering some descendants in a similar manner to how Homo Magi and Homo Sapiens are the same species except for a few unique bits. Anodites can also use this power to break their transformation and return to their true form, and similarly some of their non-Anodite descendants can use this ability to become true Anodites.
Weaknesses:

Anti-Magic: Whether it be an enchanted item, a tech-generated field, or spells cast to void or nullify magical energy, all would cause significant harm to an Anodite.
Inorganic Matter: Anodite mana abilities have slightly more trouble affecting non-biological or non-magical matter.
Current Standing: Most Anodites roam the galaxy alone, often disguising themselves and sampling a world’s most exciting activities for a while before moving on to the next. Their homeworld of Anodyne is a large purple world that has been the most magic-rich planet in all the galaxies for millennia, but has recently been on the decline. Despite still being oodles more magical than every other planet they know of, Anodites do not often make their home there, instead leaving it in the hands of their peaceful magi-tech AI servants, who run literally everything, even the government, and mainly act as a safe haven and as caretakers of their creators when needed. Anodites are classed as a rare sight; individually powerful and biologically unique, but ultimately no threat to any powers solely because they aren't united in the slightest and are often so self absorbed they'd not bother getting involved with anything noteworthy. Conquering them on the other hand would be next to impossible, they are simply too spread out for it to be feasible and their planet is a vortex of strange energies and a swarm of fanatically loyal magic robots.

Entry: Department of Extranormal Operations Faction Type: American Agency Common Homeland: United States Rarity: Uncommon Appearance: Darkly dressed humans, men and women both, of all shapes, sizes, and colors. Usually sporting poorly disguised advanced equipment that speaks of alien expertise.

Behavior: DEO agents’ attitudes vary significantly from person to person depending on their own experiences and beliefs, but most are considered intelligent, hard working, and secretive, steadfast and stubborn in following orders. Abilities:

Martial Training: Many field agents are trained in advanced combat techniques, close combat as well as weapons training.
Tech Support: Many intelligent technicians are also on the DEO payroll, well versed in what little Earth knows of alien sciences.
Weaknesses:

Human Physiology: The standard weaknesses apply to DEO agents as most humans, as well as the limitations of their species- there are currently no metahuman agents.
Secret American Agency: The DEO is a secret branch of the American government, and thus operates only in the United States and works to maintain a certain anonymity.
Human Protection Priority: DEO agents have a directive superseding all other orders to protect humanity from alien threats, and only alien threats.
Current Standing: As an anonymous agency much of their information is classified and hidden from the public, thus restricting the number of opinions about them to certain highly placed members of the American government and the few citizens that manage to see them in action- and recently word has begun to spread about them among alien communities. So far the agency has remained in the shadows and built itself up quietly, only recently becoming more active than the usual monitoring and investigating as a string of alien deaths have risen across the nation, and attacked communities lash out from fear and anger. The US Government prizes the agency for it’s ability to acquire advanced alien technologies and information, and directs a significant amount of funds their way. Few of those outside the government, and some within, see the need for the agency, as alien presence on Earth is limited at best, insignificant even, the non-human population remaining largely hidden and reluctant to out themselves to an increasingly xenophobic world. Aliens themselves speak of the company in frightened and incredulous whispers, opinions decidedly negative.

Entry: Ectonians Species Type: Sapient Humanoid Common Homeworld: Ghol Rarity: Very Rare Appearance: Ectonians typically have skin colors ranging from pale greens to dark blues, a wide range of eye colors, and black hair. Much like humans they have are bipedal with similar physiology as far as organ placement and number of limbs are concerned, as well as human-like faces except for their more pronounced canines. It is not uncommon for them to have pointy ears, but round ears are just as common.

Behavior: Aggressive and stubborn are good words to describe Ectonian society as a whole, being very confrontational and slow to change. On an individual level however, Ectonians are quirky and mischievous, enjoying jokes and breaking from the norm to individualize themselves among their peers. At times they can be utterly thoughtless and unrestrained, as evidenced by the destruction of their world through reckless use of powerful technology. Life Cycle: Ectonian lives are shorter than even Human lives, the eldest living to eighty five at best, but they reach adulthood a little faster, around about age sixteen. Abilities:

Ecto-Appetite: All life on Ghol is fed ectoplasmic energy from the Ecto-Star, Zon, even beings such as Ectonians who were not native to the world and did not originally possess the ability to harness the energy have since adjusted to do so. Now they are capable of creating small amounts of ecto-energy within themselves.
Meta-Genes: Under the light of Zon an Ectonian can absorb just enough ectoplasmic energy to begin developing peculiar quirky abilities, much like activating a metahuman gene.
Weaknesses:

Heat: Ectonians are vulnerable to even slight heat waves and will overuse their body’s energy in an effort to stay cold, projecting a slight aura of chilly air.
Current Standing: Before they were Ectonians they were from an old Kryptonian colony, and much like the Daxamites they diverged into a subspecies called the Gironians. Once they began living on Ghol that divergence only increased, becoming a subspecies of a subspecies as the ectoplasm based star wasted no time in beginning to alter those under its rays. The planet stagnated very soon after it was colonized, becoming an isolated agrarian world that gradually let its more advanced technologies decline. It was a rare day when outsiders came to the planet, often for emergency requisitions during an unsalvageable drought or famine, and every few decades or so an alien crew would strike a deal to buy cheap food in bulk. Over two hundred years ago the planet underwent a technological revolution harnessing massive amounts of power from their star, Zon. In the process they somehow destabilized the star, causing it to lash out with great swathes of pure ectoplasm that killed or transformed all it touched. The planet descended into an apocalyptic setting, and then all contact was lost with the system and no one travels there for fear of being killed by its unstable sun. Off world Ectonians were few and far between, but what few there were now make up the remainder of the entire species, some daring to try and make their way living on alien worlds, others trying their best to get lost and forget their entire species is nearly extinct. Infinitization: A process many lifeforms on Ghol, including the sapient Ectonians, were subjected to when splashed with the full power of Zon’s ectoplasm. Unlike life that didn't live under an ecto-star, life on Ghol had grown used to harnessing trace amounts of ectoplasmic radiation to supplement their evolution. Thus some of the victims that otherwise would have been vaporized were instead able to absorb the ectoplasm and were quickly and totally converted into ectoplasmic lifeforms. The ectoplasm occasionally left enough of its victim alone for them to remain sane, but all too often they were warped not only in body, but also in mind. Changes ran anywhere from skin color to the very size and shape of one’s body, and in others it left hidden impulses and violent tendencies that drove them insane. It also granted the ‘Infinitized’ new abilities now that they were made of extra-dimensional energy rather than plain flesh and bone. Gravity seemed to not be a problem, giving way to allow flight without protest, and similarly invisibility and intangibility came obscenely easy to them. Manipulation of ectoplasm in new and dangerous ways was also a new ability the Infinitized possessed, and combined their new prowess made them terribly dangerous for the other Ectonians. So the Infinitized were banished to Zon, whose wrath could not hurt them now, regardless of if they were sane or not- or even sapient, the Infinitized plants and animals of Ghol were also collected and shoved off world, each of them treated like plague victims all the while. Ironically, over the last five or so years a near dozen Infinitized Ectonians have popped up in far flung, obscure regions of the galaxy, the last survivors of a doomed planet carried to safety by ancient escape pods. Abilities:

Ecto-Being: The Infinitized are made entirely of ectoplasm, an ill-understood extradimensional material, and do not possess flesh or bone, instead they bleed ectoplasmic goo and are able to use their own energy to regenerate their bodies. They no longer require food, water, or even air in order to live- though some wouldn’t class them as living.
Ecto-Energy Manipulation: They are also able to control the energy their new bodies innately create, throwing ecto-energy as an attack or shaping it as a shield, or even temporarily bestowing ectoplasmic powers unto other objects or beings.
Flight: The ability to fly unaided, already weighing very little they can change further to weigh next to nothing and propel themselves to high speeds using their energy.
Invisibility and Intangibility: Without proper science to study and explain them the best they have are theories, the most popular and likely one being that ectoplasm, and thus ectoplasmic beings, exist partially in another dimension, and can use that connection to fuel themselves as well as sink deeper into it to become more picky about what can and can’t affect them in this one, for instance; becoming invisible but retaining the ability to see, or becoming intangible but still capable of moving.
