She is slightly above average height but is very thin. Her face has high cheekbones and a slightly pointed chin which conspire to rob her of true beauty. She has blue eyes and fine blonde hair that is kept fairly short by the simple expedient of cutting it with a knife. She has a somewhat plain figure with only a slight tapering of the waist to keep it from being boyish. Mental Description/Personality: Dietricha cultivates a sunny devil may care attitude and is eager to seem as though she dosent care what the world thinks of her. Deep down though she wants to live up to the expectation both of her uncles and her master and make a name for herself as an adventuress. Trappings (Arms, Armour and Attire): Although DIetricha owns a set of somewhat threadbare robes of the college, she usually dresses in simple traveling clothes of linen and wool. She owns a dark green cape which she imagines gives her a seasoned look. Miscellaneous: (Cash, utensils, charms etc) Alchemical equipment, metals, a little cash, a few potions of questionable efficacy. Background/History: Dietricha is a younger daughter of the ancient but unimportant Von Grimelhausen family. She grew up on the family estate in Grimelhausen. Dietricha’s grandfather was a famous philanderer and was extraordinarily prolific, fathering a dozen children on the right side of the blanket and, reportedly, double that on various chambermaids, tavern wenches and visiting minstrels. As a result the Estate was rather cramped, not to mention taxed to provide a living for so many technically noble families. Dietricha’s own parents were not particularly noteworthy beyond being of the senior branch of a somewhat confused tree. They bought their three children up as best the could with the limited resources the family estate provided. She is blessed with two healthy older brothers who are expected to carry the family fortune. With little in her future beyond a convenient marriage, hopefully to a wealthy merchant trying to climb into the nobility, Dietricha was left almost to her own devices. Almost. One of the pros (or cons) of growing up at Grimelhausen was the uncles. Dietricha has an inordinate number of bastard uncles who periodically return to the estate to try to beg for money and generally drink up the family wine and eat their food. Many of these uncles made their living as mercenaries of various stripes, ranging from more or less legitimate commanders of troops to slightly more respectable bandits. Dietricha grew up around these men and many of them took a fondness to a curious and excitable young girl. Hours were passed listening to outlandish tales of excitement and adventure punctuated by much drinking and boasting. It set her young imagination afire, certainly it was much more interesting than the dull recitations of history and ettiquette her parents forced her to attend. In her heart Dietricha resolved that she would become an adventurer like her uncles. Unfortunately her parents were not understanding of this aspiration. Her mother flew into hysterics and her father declared that he would see her dead before he saw her wasting her noble blood like her beastly uncles. In order to enforce this he had her confined to the house under guard and arranged for her marriage. So things might have stood had Dietricha not begun to sicken. At first her illness was passed off as an attempt to escape her confinement but as she grew weaker and more feverish her father was forced to bend and sent of a Sister of Shyalla. Examining the girl the sister immediately recognised the signs of an uncontrolled magical talent and demanded the girl be sent to Altdorf to be examined by the college. The next day she left in a coach for the capital. After a good deal of more or less unnecessary poking, prodding and fondling it was decided that her talents lay in the Gold College. This was much to Dietricha’s disappointment as after she had come to terms with the fact that she was to be a wizard, had imagined herself as a Red Wizard, hurling fire at her enemies. Due to her parents lack of funding she was pawned off to a somewhat disreputable Gold Wizard by the name of Tyburn Gunhild. Master Gunhild would certainly have agreed that the Golden Wind could be used to come to a deeper understanding of the universe, he also theorized that it could be used to make a quick Imperial. Tyburn also had a keen appreciation of the many advantages of an attractive teenage apprentice. Thus began Dietricha’s magical education. Over the next several years Tyrun taught Dietricha the ins and outs of alchemy and harnessing the Golden Wind. He also taught her how to pass false coins, run various scams, and the practical applications of a large number of dirty Brettonian words. Unfortunately for the two unscrupulous wizards one con to many went wrong and questions were beginning to be asked. Accordingly Tyburn decided it might be best if young Dietricha absented herself from Altdorf for a while to give things time to cool off. Accordingly he gave the girl a staff and a travelling cloak and the stern admonition that she should continue to send him her dues whenever she could and that should she find anything interesting magically speaking she should share it with him. With a playful swat to the rump she was out the door and finally ready to begin her career of grand adventure.
