I mean, being a serious/harsh GM is one thing, being a downright idiot who has no respect for anyone/doesn't understand how forum RPing normally works is a completely different story. The worst part is that the Guild is full of them these last few months. I may not be particularly acquainted with some of the older members around here, thanks to my own preferences and style, but at least I feel that there's a sense of respect between the veterans.

I don’t know the members you’re mentioning, but here’s my two cents. I was a[i] terrible [/i]GM when I started doing my first self-directed role-plays in 2003, full stop. It takes time, effort, and peers to make a person develop as a director and I wasn’t any different. The best thing to consider is most of the people who are new and “bad” will get better through time. You don’t have to help them get better, mind you, but consider what it was like when you started and when you “got good” at the medium and how.
