His costume consists of a light gray trench coat, under which is a brown suit with a white undershirt and black tie. Oscar wears brown leather gloves, and black elevator shoes which boost his height by two inches. Picture for reference. Civilian Appearance: Oscar is a seemingly average, unassuming man most often seen wearing a white dress shirt, a black tie and beige khakis. However, hidden by his clothing is a rather lean build and a few scars, courtesy of his vigilante activities. His eyes are baggy from night after night with little to no sleep, and perpetual stubble clings to his face due to the cheap razors he uses. He has brown hair in a close-cropped cut, and dull, icy blue eyes. Costumed Personality: The Question is an enigma, to put it simply. Speaking both laconically and sparsely, he is perhaps the very definition of a stoic crusader for justice. However, when he gets to talking, he really gets to talking, with filibusters on his various conspiracy theories ranging from the typical ('The moon landing hoax', 'Roswell UFO incident', etc.) to the odd ('Topically applied fluoride renders your teeth detectable by spy satellite') to the downright idiotic ('Aglets have an unknown, yet sinister, purpose'). Civilian Personality: Oscar is much better at hiding his unstable side. He is polite and cordial, never talking back to his superiors or anyone else for that matter, and seems to be a walking doormat. Beneath this friendly facade is an estranged man suffering from insomnia, with a very strong sense of justice and a black and white morality that would seem borderline insane to others. This inability to get a good night's sleep and his sense of justice is what drove him to become a vigilante. Civilian Occupation: Financial advisor at Hub City General Hospital. It's a fancy way of saying he's an accountant. -------------------Abilities-------------------
-Detective: Though not on the level of, say, Sherlock Holmes, Oscar is a skilled investigator who can spot details and make deductions if given enough clues. -Espionage: Oscar is skilled in the use of stealth, be it the classic flitting through the shadows or hiding in plain sight. -Advanced Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Trained under the master martial artist Bruce Phoenix, Oscar utilizes a fighting style which mixes elements of boxing, Judo and Savate.
-Powers: N/A -Gadgets: N/A -Weapons: Brass knuckles worn under his gloves. Otherwise, anything he can get his hands on. -------------------Biography------------------- Character History/Origin: Oscar Ellison was born in Hub City, a city notorious for its high crime rate. His mother died during childbirth and his father had left before he was born, leaving him to be put in a destitute orphanage in the worst part of town, known as The Wedge. From childhood to adolescence, he saw the worst of the world while living in the slums, and this early exposure to the horrors of the world affected him deeply. Despite many attempts, Oscar was never adopted, and lived in the orphanage until he was 16. He was given status as an emancipated youth and set up with a low-paying job as a waiter and a cheap apartment, which was still located in The Wedge. He saved all the money he could while using the rest to pay for rent and cheap food, his goal being to enroll in a community college with the saved up money at 18. His patience and saving paid off, and he enrolled in the local community college when he was 18. After a year in the college, he transferred to a university in Gotham, and completed his bachelor's degree in accounting. He returned to Hub City, getting a job as a financial advisor in the general hospital, got an apartment in a better part of town, and lived life normally for another two years. However, his first 18 years stuck in the Wedge still stuck with him, and he couldn't sleep well at night knowing that there was still crime rampant in the streets. He decided he would do something about it. For a year, Oscar trained himself to fight, tapping into his time in the orphanage and the fights he'd get into with the other boys, both the play fights and the legitimate squabbles that would end in blood and bruises. He trained himself to use his smaller build to his advantage whilst sneaking around or hiding, and also trained himself to remain unobtrusive in public in case he ever needed to stake a place out or follow a criminal. After a year and a half of training, he figured he was ready, and made a mask out of cloth to hide his entire head before beginning his one-man war on crime. For the past two years, Oscar has operated as the Question, and is often regarded as just an urban myth by the people of Hub City (save for some of the criminals, who know a little too well just how real he is). But soon, they'll find out just how wrong they are. For a time, Oscar trained under the martial artist Bruce Phoenix, refining his skill in boxing, learning some Judo and Savate, as well as attaining a rather zen-like philosophy. He's taken a break from training to reintegrate into his normal life, and continue his vigilante activities. Optional Information: Oscar keeps a journal, which is most often used to document his vigilante activities. [s]Oscar hates hobos. Oscar is secretly two midgets in a trenchcoat who are on a quest to regain their height.[/s] -------------------Important People------------------- Nemesis: Considers each criminal to be his enemy. Aside from that, he has no real 'arch-enemy' (at least for now). Allies: Lady Arcana - The Question has partnered with Lady Arcana a few times in the past. Bruce Phoenix - The Question was trained by Bruce Phoenix. Alias - The Question and Alias are currently a crime fighting duo. Team: N/A (again, at least for now)

Oscar's journal, October 12th, 2017 I bought this journal today after putting the finishing touches on my costume. Nothing too fancy, just a bit of cloth for a mask and a detective get-up for the rest of it. It won't exactly scream 'hero', but at least it's effective, and damn if it doesn't look sweet. Anyway, this journal is gonna be used to document my life as a costumed hero. Not sure why I want to write this, maybe I'll read it to my kids or something if I ever have any, maybe I want my story to be told if I ever get killed in action. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. I'm heading out now. Hub City really isn't ready for me. Oscar's journal, November 21st, 2017 Finally got out of the hospital. I really fucked up going after a gang on my first night. I'm not ready for that. Going to train harder, go for muggers and stuff, work my way up. You know what they say: never bite off more than you can chew. That was my first mistake. Oscar's journal, December 6th, 2017 I foiled a gang rape last night. Five big guys, going after a girl. I knew her. She works at the hospital, a nurse. I made sure to walk her home, and she offered to clean and patch up a wound I got from one of the guys (stupid son of a bitch had a knife). I agreed, and she patched me up. I saw her at work today, chatted with her, she didn't realize who I was. Something was different in her eyes from how I remembered it before last night. Gone was the spark of youth and optimism, replaced by this cold dullness. I guess it happens to everyone in Hub City: try to look on the bright side, but you eventually give into the dark. Oscar's journal, January 1st, 2018, Entry #1 I must be the craziest man alive. I'm wandering around the Wedge without a single weapon to defend myself, I'm wearing a mask that makes me look like the damned Slender Man, and a few minutes ago I gave a ganger the pavement facial. I think I can give Jack Torrance a run for his money in the nutjob department. Got some information about a meth cook in the area from the ganger I beat up. Had to break his nose and knock four of his teeth out to get him to talk. Going to pay this wannabe Walter White a visit. Oscar's journal, January 1st, 2018, Entry #2 Took down the cook. Tied him up and dragged his ass halfway across town to the police department, where I left him with a bag of meth and a note explaining that he was a cook brought in by a new vigilante in town. I signed the note with a question mark. Oscar's journal, January 2nd, 2018 I thought that turning the cook in would be the end of it, but before heading to work I turned on the news and what do I see? Breaking news: 'who is the Question?' So that's the name they're giving me. I guess it fits, I did sign the note with a question mark and all. They had security footage of me dropping the guy off. I never noticed, due to wearing the mask and all, but damn that faceless illusion is really good from afar. Journal, February 28th, 2018 February is supposed to be a romantic month, but I've spent the last 28 days doing anything and everything but giving flowers to blushing girls. Took down that gang that beat me up on my first night, cracked down on three different drug suppliers, and made sure that an entire gang will be watching the sunrise from behind bars for a long time. I'm proud of myself. It's only been about half a year. I can only imagine how much help I'll have been in five years, ten years. I guess time will tell. Question's journal, April 13th, 2018 Friday the thirteenth. According to superstition, it's an unlucky day. That's what the mugger must've thought. Scratch that, actually. He wasn't a mugger; he was a coldhearted murderer, rapist, and fiend. He admitted to killing five people before I caught him, two of which he raped. He deserves every bit of pain he feels right now. Something told me to stop with his leg. I didn't listen. I didn't stop until he was barely recognizable as a human being. Missing eight teeth. Broken nose. All limbs snapped like twigs. Both eyes swollen shut. I'll make sure he remembers this event clearly. Question's journal, June 18th, 2018 Found a group of street kids poking a dead dog with a stick. It had tire treads on its burst stomach, flies and cockroaches swarming around it while the kids joyfully wrapped its guts around the stick like spaghetti on a fork. Disgusting. In a way, carcass reminded me of this city. Once a great place, defiled by the criminals who call it home. All these junkies, and cutpurses, and killers, think they're on top of the world. No. They're the roaches. I am the exterminator. Question's journal, September 2nd, 2018 Met friend from orphanage during tonight's excursion. He became an enemy. Felt his jaw splinter when my fist made contact with it, like a toothpick between a bodybuilder's fingers. Felt pity. Some sympathy. But he chose this life. His fault. Won't empathize with him or the other scum when they dug their own graves. Question's journal, October 12th, 2018 Been a year. Funny how time flies. Went from weakling to terror of the underworld in twelve months. Probably a new record. Then again, there haven't been vigilantes in decades. A scream has pierced the night, like a neglected child desperate for attention. I believe I shall answer its call.
Villain COMING SOON Sidekick Intermediate Street Level
-------------------Basic Information------------------- "So, what, should I call you Scarface? His dark brown hair is frequently combed neatly to the side, dark blue eyes often dart away from eye contact, and his skin is fair and without a blemish (something he's grateful for). Most often, he wears preppy clothes, such as suits or sweater vests. Costumed Personality: Blackstar contrasts with his mentor, being energetic and playful. He throws sarcastic jabs at his enemies, attempting to make them slip up but occasionally hoping that they'll crack wise with him during combat. When he needs to be quiet, he will be, and can be quite intimidating when he takes his job seriously. If anyone he loves is ever in danger, he'll drop his wisecracking persona entirely and become a terrifying presence, rivaling even his mentor in the intimidation factor. Civilian Personality: David is much more reserved than Blackstar, being an awkward and polite book nerd to most who know him. He frequently cows down to any and all intimidation, never standing up for himself and appearing to be a massive push-over. However, when he sees someone else being put down his heroic instincts take over, and he'll put himself in the line of fire to defend the person. Appearing to be quite shy, David never engages people in conversation unless approached first, and can often be found in some quiet corner reading a book. Civilian Occupation: High school student. -------------------Abilities------------------- -Skills: David is a natural acrobat, able to perform feats of agility such as multiple flips in succession, cartwheels, wall runs, etc., as well as more simple things such as leaping from rooftop to rooftop. David is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, trained in various martial arts by his mentor but most proficient in Sambo, as well as using his bo staff in combat. David has basic first aid knowledge, able to tend to minor wounds like cuts and bruises. David is proficient in lockpicking, knowledge kept from his time on the streets. -Powers: N/A -Gadgets: Blackstar's equipment is similar to Grim's, though much more limited. His gauntlets lack the built-in features, being just normal gauntlets with nothing special about them. His boots have retractable spikes that can be used to keep traction on icy terrain. His mask acts as both a voice modulator and a gas mask, making him sound much older than he is, and the goggles can zoom in, record, and provide night vision or heat opticals. Built into the left side of the frame is a small but powerful flashlight. Blackstar's utility belt has four pouches, three in the front and one on the left hand side, and a holster on the right hand side. The first pouch carries a basic first aid equipment, such as rubbing alcohol and bandages. The second carries lockpicks and an electric keycracker. The third carries police-grade zipties. The fourth carries a few loops of rope-wire, and are placed next to seven small throwing blades made of titanium. Finally, the holster contains a grappling hook, used for scaling large buildings or gaps too large for him to leap across. -Weapons: Some of David's gadgets double as weapons, and he has a expendable bo stuff capable of emitting over 50000 volts of electricity. Aside from that, there are various guns and blades around the Kasimir household. -------------------Biography------------------- Character History/Origin: David O'Rinn was born to two trapeze artists in a traveling circus. Due to genetics, he was born naturally small and agile, perfect for joining the family business as an acrobat. Of course, that's exactly what he did. From age 4 to 9, David's life consisted of traveling from city to city and living amongst exotic looking people with exotic abilities. This all ended one fateful day during one of the circus's trips to Gotham City, where the tightrope his parents were walking on snapped and they fell to their deaths. In shock, David ran away in tears, ending up in an abandoned apartment complex and spending the night there. The next morning, he was unable to find his way back to the circus, and the day after that it moved on, leaving him stranded in the city. Without a home or family and unwilling to go to an orphanage, David began to steal and beg to survive, learning valuable skills like how to traverse the cityscape and how to pick locks. At 13, David had his first run in with the vigilante Grim, who found him attempting to remove the tires from her vehicle. She told him to scram, and he did so. A week later, he met her again, and she put him in an orphanage which he easily escaped from. Three weeks later, they met once more whilst he was running across the city rooftops for fun. For a second time, she put him in an orphanage. Finally, they met a fourth time two weeks later, after David dispatched a mugger using nothing but acrobatics and streetfighting. Grim took the boy in, seeing that he had potential (but mostly just to keep him from being a recurring annoyance). Though flat out refusing to train him to be her sidekick at first, David eventually managed to convince her, and for a year and a half she trained him in the use of martial arts, weaponry, and various gadgets. Finally, a month after his 15th birthday, she decided he was ready, and took him on as her sidekick, and they've been partners since.
