The soil of the Commonwealth has seen vegetation bloom during Estelle’s life, however, and she is determined to continue it. Herbalism Perhaps inefficient given the advances of medicine, even in post-apocalyptic times, though Estelle is fairly well-versed in using flora for poultices, tinctures, and other primal concoctions. Cooking She is no chef, but years of living alone and amongst others have granted Estelle adequate cooking skills.
⋄ Weapons ⋄
A 5-inch knife with a wooden handle
⋄ Attire ⋄
Estelle fancies simple blue or floral-patterned blouses with jeans, and usually dons a shawl of patchwork hues and patterns she personally made.
⋄ Personality ⋄
Estelle holds a temperament befitting of a grandmother—affectionate, watchful, and serene in manner. She has learned that the wastes of America suffer most from apathy, and thus subscribes to hospitality and kindness. Though sensitive to the plight of others, Estelle recognizes the cruel reality begotten in the fallout of the world, and how easily it can betray those with rose-tinted glasses.
⋄ History ⋄
Estelle’s life began in the higher strata of Diamond City, born to merchants made respectably wealthy by the lucrative trade of goods in the city. From a young age she was taught to be confrontational and to “lead with reins”, for the world had moved on from gentler ways to behave. The Broken Mask Incident instilled fear into the then-six-year-old’s, and Estelle wondered if her family was right about gentleness being obsolete. Though Estelle’s family was drawn towards what could be considered lavish in post-war times, the young girl felt at ease with a more mundane lifestyle, gaining a knack for sewing and knitting, which she would give to the impoverished and the transients of the city. Although money was not her desire, she kept her family business of trade and vendoring alive, funneling a small portion of the caps to help keep the city’s greenhouse functional, where she would often tend to the crops, and to the schoolhouse for supplies. Remaining an active merchant in the city for years, with occasional trips outside of the area for business, Estelle retired at 56 (2279), selling her business and assuming a full-time position of caretaker for Diamond City’s greenhouse. During the controversy surrounding McDonough, Estelle adopted a year-old mutt and named her Lady Luck. Eventually, several years later, the former tradeswoman felt the clamor of the city and its suffocating density were too crippling. Hearing of a small settlement 6 hours away from the Commonwealth mecca, Estelle arranged for a young man with a brahmin cart to escort her to the town known as Salem.
Let me know if there are any lore errors. Not too content with how she heard of the town/getting there/etc. so I might change that.
Accepted, great character, excited to see her in the rp.
