Keeled, Jade-green scales run along most of his body with a pale underbelly of softer leathery scales. He sports several horns on the back of the skull and a few armed at the tip of his snout, rows of webbed spines run down his back and his tail fans out with several sharp spines and a spear-like tip. His long legs have an almost raptor-like structure while his arms and hands have an almost human appearance in design and proportion. Both his hands and feet possess sharp ruby claws, and despite his runt status, his body still retains compact muscles. Two white, feathery wings, an unusual feature for a reptile are sported on his back. The mark remains on his left hand, and has the symbol of three curved runes in a straight row surrounded by a hexagon with a yellow-gold hue. His race usually possess six limbs; a pair of legs and two pairs of arms, with the second pair of arms positioned on the back and modified as wings. Jackal was born without that extra set of arms, in addition to his smaller then average size he was left without flight. The feathery, bird-like wings on his back are not natural; rather they are the gift he was given when he arrived in this world. Jackal possesses a scar on the right side of his torso, three claw marks from what could be assumed as either a larger Gorgas or beast.

Personality

As typical with the Gorgas Race, Jackal has a reserved and almost cold-blooded demeanor. He rarely speaks his mind, and even when he does his tone and language have more or less a lack of empathy or emotion. His kind rarely retain ideas one could consider poetic or romantic; the closest form of 'affection' they'll show is one of brotherhood or comradery. Gorgasi are notorious for their codes of honor and their form of bonds for their allies. Loyalty is not easily earned, especially by strangers, but once ties are made they are expected to be allies for as long as they breathe; anything less is considered taboo or frowned upon. To dishonor one's comrade by betrayal, abandonment, or misuse is to betray one's own loyalty and honor. Despite their loyalties, their other more cold-blooded behaviors may some contradictory to their code. Gorgasi have no qualms with eating the dead corpse of a fallen comrade, for to waste such food would be foolish. They are savage brutes when it comes to war, Jackal is no exception either. Like his kin Jackal is drawn to bloodshed and violence, be it from hunting wild beasts to dismembering armies War is what the Gorgasi Thrive on. Foes that have proof their worth in battle are worth remembering, there is a spark of admiration when one Gorgas combats what could be considered an equal. More often then not, the victor will keep a memento of the fallen rival or enemy, such as a finger or petrified eyeball. Emotions beyond this are almost foreign to most Gorgasi. Jackal doesn't understand morality or law beyond his race's codes of honor, the strongest passion he can even comprehend is rage. He won't hide his lack of understanding when confronted with alien personalities and feelings, and his curiosity may cause him to break his own silence to ask questions on the matter, even though he will never truly understand. Jackal isn't necessarily smart, but having to survive as a runt of the litter he is very crafty when it comes to survival and battle tactics. He knows how to play dirty in a brawl or what ways can he track and kill a prey item. When it comes to subjects like math or art however, the reptile is utterly dull.

Biography

A runt is not common among the ranks of Gorgas, rarer still for a runt to survive into adulthood. The Gorgas race are primitive among a hostile world of dangerous monsters and environments; villages when not at war with each other are on a constant struggle for survival. Juveniles are fiercely protected and judged by their adults, as the slow reproduction and growth periods of their race are the main reasons to their low population. The weak are picked off quickly while the more able juveniles strive and push themselves ahead of expectation. This kind of survival of the fittest life-style made it nearly impossible for Jackal to survive. Not only was he far shorter and weaker then other juveniles he was also born with the lack of wings, the average height for an adult Gorgas is between 12-13 feet with a weight of over 1200 lbs. He was always outperformed by his more able piers, and had it not been a century of pure chance of luck and his experience he earned with close-death encounters he would not have survived to this day. Even in less dire events he was the subject of 'bullying' by his piers and adults a like. He was underfed, beaten by other juveniles, and constantly exposed to the dangers of his home planet Reijar. A whole century of surviving this ordeal has honed Jackal into a master of survival despite the hand he had been dealt at his birth. When he finally came to maturity he had become attuned to the skill of hunting, found a niche in combat of his fellow race by taking advantage of his small nimble size to outmaneuver and overwhelm combatants of his species, and gained some respect purely by the miracle of surviving to that point. He was by no means a champion of his tribe, many still outperformed him both in combat and in the hunt, even with his honed skills. His ability to survive against the odds however didn't go unrewarded, he was finally accepted as a true comrade of his tribe, despite his lengthy childhood of neglect. It was more fitting for Jackal to stay at home then to go to war with his brothers; Most of Jackal's support was through handcrafting equipment and help building shelters despite how much he craved to drive an axe through the skull of a rival tribe. He had taken this frustration out on his prey, a mistake that had made him an insufficient hunter at the time as his angry, berserk nature failed the necessary stealth to catch a fresh meal.

Class Berserker

The Gift of flight
While feathery wings are not natural to his race Kriv's gift gave him one of the things he lacked at birth. With proper wings Kriv can be a nimble flier and can remain in sustained flight for 10 minutes before rest.

Natural Powers

Monstrous Physique
Even as a runt, Jackal is a ferocious beast of a humanoid. With scales as hard as stone, claws, a tail that can act like a spear, and horns on top a powerful maw, This 800+ pound lizard is built for the path of a brute. At his absolute limit he can lift up to 1 ton or 2,000 lbs at most, though he is far more comfortable moving 3/4's of that limit. He can deal bone-breaking blows and can smash a wall in with his fist rather then a tool.

Born of fire
Most reptiles of Reijar have a natural heat immunity, unable to be burned by even the most extreme of temperatures, including temperatures exceeding what they experience in the wild such as lava and the fire-breathing of other reptiles. This immunity does not apply to other forms of damage from fire-based attacks, such as explosive force or drowning in lava. The Gorgas race are walking flamethrowers, they have a sac within their throats that can exhale a flammable bio-gas at will. This gas can be ignited through sparks, which can be made by flicking the carbonized tips of their forked tongues against their lips which are also lined with a natural carbon-like substance which when struck together at the right angle can create sparks potent enough to set that ejected gas ablaze. Through this technique they are able to breathe jets of iron-melting fire from their maw with a range of 7 meters; however they suffer from a cool-down period for their bodies to restore their 'fuel reserves' for the fire-breathe, which typically takes about 2 minutes.

Talents

Blacksmith
Though the Gorgasi are primitive they are able to make metal equipment by handcrafting it. Using their firebreathe or an open pool of molten rock they can liquify iron and then mold the shape of the molten metal with their hands as if it were clay. This technique allows fast metal work, though the unique handcrafted designs are inferior to traditional blacksmithing. Blades are a bit blunt and the craftswork can be a bit sloppy.

Handyman
As a primitive race Jackal is used to the lifestyle of using thatch and stone for tools and shelter. He is an expert on making temporary shelters, keeping a fire going, building tools and repairing equipment.

Predator
Sharp eyes that illuminate in darkness, and a snake-like sense of smell with his tongue give Jackal the tracking tools of an apex predator. He has plenty of experience hunting wild animals and beasts for meat as that is the only source of food his tribe has. Unfortunately his race don't bother to cook their food much, but he can at least gather the meat for his allies.

Weaknesses

Cold Blooded
The hot and tropical world of Reijar rarely deals with cold or mild climates, save for cold deserts nights and the occasional mountain summit. Like most ectothermic animals, despite their heat immunity, Gorgasi are extremely vulnerable to the cold. They cannot produce their own body heat naturally, attempting to keep themselves warm with their firebreathing is inefficient and exhausting with its cool-down. They rely on heat to help digest food, keep their body active, and blood pumping. Even in room temperature Gorgasi tend to become lethargic and less energetic. Any colder then 70 degrees Farenheit is potentially fatal to a Gorgasi, left alone too long in such an environment will kill them.

Primitive Mind
The Gorgasi aren't smart when it comes to abstract concepts. They are only smart when it comes to survival, and even then they may succumb to the wild thrills or rage of a berserker warrior.

Berserker
An enraged Gorgasi is dangerous not only to foes but to themselves. Their sense of danger and pain become subdued by their bloodlust and anger, a rage that can be triggered merely by being in danger in the first place, or say the loss of a trusted comrade. It is often for the Gorgasi to sacrifice themselves in combat both out of honor and through the sheer desire of blood lust. A Gorgas will gladly lose an arm or leg if it means that his foe will die.

Other

Jackal may occasionally make strange remarks either about his race's theology or acknowledging an 'alien' concept. Usually these comments are just him thinking allowed. Although Jackal and the Gorgasi resemble dragons, they are purely biological creatures. Magic and similar supernatural powers are foreign to them, and the existence of such is merely fabled. Some may consider magic as both a real and a taboo practice in their home world, but others do not even acknowledge the existence of such. The Gorgasi have a potentially unlimited lifespan, but most rarely exceed 300 years due to their violent and hazardous lifestyle and world. It takes approximately 100 years for a juvenile Gorgasi to biologically mature, and as thus Jackal is fairly young for his species despite being over 150 years old.
