He chuckled softly as she thanked him yet again, laughing with her as she joked, shrugging softly as a wide grin split his lips. He realized that it was the first time in a while he'd really laughed, really felt happy and comfortable. There had been a constant, nagging feeling of despair that filled him since he arrived in Egypt, it had never left him for even a moment, until now - now it was distant, no where to be seen, all he could see, all he could focus on, was her. "I could think of worse ways to spend the day." He grinned as he finally responded, smiling softly as he saw her finally recover from her giddiness. He opened his mouth for a moment to speak, he wanted to savour the warm feeling she gave him, and he wanted to embrace it. He realized in that moment he wanted to hold Aziza, to really know her as a person. In all honesty, he wanted to ask her permission to kiss her. Though as he sat there, he faltered. As comfortable and relaxed as she made him feel, and regardless of the warm spark that he felt in her presence, he didn't want to risk pushing it, he was too scared of pushing her away now, they had gotten so close, and he wasn't sure if she was reciprocating his feelings, or if she truly just felt gracious for his protection. Closing his mouth, he simply returned it to a smile, forcing away his desires for now as he just sat in silence, unable to help himself as he stared into her eyes. He seemed unsure of why she seemed so taken aback about the fact he had been sent to check on her, not even having a smart comment to respond with when she did thank him, simply letting out a; "Well, you're welcome." Before he saw her quickly turn away and lead Lauren aside. He was about to speak up when Lauren's words clicked in his mind, his mouth somewhat agape, he looked toward her with raised eyebrow, almost as if she had said something truly preposterous. Luckily, a welcome distraction came as he heard Vera's slight yelp when she bumped into a pillar and toppled to the ground. Looking back over at her, he forced himself not to laugh as he moved over, looking down at the Librarian as he held a hand out towards her. "I know it's difficult to take your eyes off me, Vera, but you should look where you're going." Regardless of Lauren's comment catching him off-guard, being away from Peter was restoring some of William's confidence as he let some of his roguish nature slip through again, finally back in the comfortable environs of the museum.
