It seems rather unlikely that comedy is a hollywood conspiracy to keep Americans from voting Republican. John Oliver isn't a puppet of the Jewish oligarchy and Bilderburgers and Area 51 and Beverly Hills 90210, he's a dude selling a product. Left-wing political comedy has been hot since Jon Stewart took over the Daily Show. That shit sells. Modern Punditry and political comedy is driven by the market, not so much by the man. Because people want to watch shit that meshes with their world view, the market sells our own world view back to us. So that it isn't the man behind the curtain brainwashing us, it's us brainwashing us.
