The Contest started and Shiranui was the last coordinator to make his appeal.  He had Zoro show off various legendary Pokémon and their signature moves, all done through illusions.  Needless to say he got a perfect score for that performance.[hr]His entrant for the Battle Round was the legendary Diancie named Diamanda.  Shiranui blitzed through the quarter final through point depletion and breezed through the semi-final after Diamanda knocked out a Jynx with Diamond Storm.  During the grand final match, Diamanda was against an Arbok and Arbok tried to use Glare, but Shiranui played his ace in the hole when he Mega Evolved Diamanda.  Diamanda's Magic Bounce reflected the Glare right back and Arbok was paralysed instead.  The battle was over when Diamanda showed off an Explosion that gave Shiranui the win through knockout and point depletion.[hr]Shiranui had won his fifth ribbon and qualified for the Kanto Grand Festival.
