She herself couldn't wear metal armors, but that was due to the rules of her own organization; she'd still be perfectly capable of doing everything she could at the moment. If she turned into a horse and that horse had barding applied to it, she would be no less swift (well maybe just a bit less), just more easily fatigued. Yeah a full set of plates would probably interfere with that otherworldly grace, but monks generally wore little more than pajamas. Surely a bit of extra padding wouldn't hurt that much. Maybe that weird monk stuff was just a more finicky form of arcane magic. Then that would make a measure of sense, she supposed.
