Name: Olive Bishop Age: 19 Gender: Female Race: High Elf Class: Arcanist Appearance: Picture, pre-mortem. For elf-version, add elf ears; change clothing for simple, brown robes; and swap out the glasses for wooden spectacles. Six feet tall as a human, six-four as an elf. Notable Traits: Thinner than your average elf. Almost always has a pair of simple wooden spectacles perched on her nose. Belongings: The aforementioned eyeglasses and her spellbook are her two most notable possession, and both are somewhat pricy, but far from expensive. The eyeglasses can fold together for ease of storage, and the spellbook is filled with strange, arcane runes and symbols that are meaningless to those that haven't studied magic. Abilities: Olive starts with two spells, a simple offensive Frostbolt, and a defensive Force Shield. Being a magic-user, she can also perform minor cantrips that wouldn't be on the character's in-game "action bar", so to speak. Frostbolt, a high mana spell that simply lobs a bolt of frigid magic at the target. Force Shield, a medium mana spell that conjures a solid barrier at the caster's fingertips, up to Nx3 square inches, where N is the caster's level, capping at level 24. Lasts 60 seconds, though the duration shortens upon taking damage. A single powerful attack can outright shatter it. Levitation, a low mana cantrip that requires no concentration. Does exaxtly what it says on the tin. Can carry up to 25 pounds of items within a foot of each other. If cast on multiple objects far apart, she can carry (25-(Nx5))÷N pounds, where N is the number of objects levitating (10x2, 3.3x3, 1.25x4, etc. Basically, for every item levitated, subtract 5 lbs, then divide the rest among the items.) Personality: Olive is incredibly fidgety and easily spooked, which, combined with her fragile frame, makes her seem like she couldn't hurt a fly. After her passing, however, she's found herself commiting surprising acts of bravery in the heat of the moment, despite heart-pounding fear. She prefers a more noncombatitive role, but can defend herself if necessary. While she was alive, she wrote better when she didn't have to worry about deadlines, and this same trait has followed her into this new world. Olive is incredibly smart and creative, but often has difficulty thinking up the words she needs on the spot. While typically a creature of thought and reason, she can get a bit emotional at times, even angry, though she's conditioned herself to calm down when she feels her temper rising. She's easily frustrated when dealing with people who act irrationally or can't explain their actions, but this frustration typically passes quickly. History: Throughout her life, Olive was plagued by health issues. From minor afflictions, such as near-sightedness, to life-threatening diagnoses (that she'd much rather keep to herself), she's been in and out of the hospital many times. Her position wasn't helped by her financial situation, either. As a self-employed author, royalties were scarce, and that, combined with whatever government assistance she could get, barely covered her living expenses. Technically, it didn't cover them at all, and the poor girl spent many days with little to no food just to have enough for next month's rent. In the end, it wasn't chronic illness that took her life, but a preventable disease. She contracted pneumonia during a cold winter's night, and, though her insurance would cover treatment, her poor health simply made things worse, and, after over a month in the hospital, she passed away...only to awaken in a new world. She has just woken up in this new world, and has yet to come to terms with what has happened. Still a level 1 arcanist, she has just the beginner's basics of magic down, and, perhaps through improving, she can find a way back to her world, or at least explain what's happened. Other: As one would expect, she has difficulty reading her spellbook without her spectacles on, due to her near-sightedness. She'd be slower when casting, and may even still completely miscast the spell, anyway.
EDIT: Added the last paragraph of her history, to be a little more clear about her current status.
