Name: Darius Arenar Age: 24 Gender: Male Race: Imperial (with Nordic blood) Appearance: Darius stands at an even six feet in height. Hailing from Cyrodil, he has a light skin tone with a slight tan to it. His hair is short, always kept at less than two inches in length, and he has some stubble for facial hair. Overall, his features could be described as rather handsome, and are usually accompanied by a charming smile. His eyes are dark green. There is a thin scar, about two inches in length, just above his right eyebrow. As for the rest of his body, Darius has an average build - more or less what you could expect from the typical Imperial of Cyrodil, with a bit of extra bulk (possibly due to his nordic heritage.) He is built more for speed and agility than raw strength, but that is not to say that he is weak. There are no noticeable scars, and he has no tattoos. Now for clothing. Darius wears a light green longsleeved shirt, over which he has a thicker and darker green vest. He has a pair of fur gloves on his hands which extend almost to his elbows. His pants are made of leather. His boots are also leather, but are hardened, and lined with fur on the inside. He has a thick bear fur cloak to help ward off the frigid Skyrim weather, and a fur hat. Personality: I'd prefer to leave this blank, and let his personality come out over the course of the roleplay. History: Darius's father was a nordic skald named Edric Silver-Song, who hailed from Skyrim and trained at the bard's college, but had wanted to share his homeland's songs and culture with the neighboring provinces. So he traveled to Cyrodil, moving from tavern to tavern where he played Nordic songs, which were well-received since they were different from the usual Cyrodilic songs, coming across as exotic. Eventually his travels brought him to the Imperial City, where he met an Imperial Mage who ran an enchanting business. They eventually fell in love, and Edric finally settled down, earning a sizeable amount of coin from playing in the Imperial City's taverns and picking up some of the local songs. Eventually, Darius was born. Growing up, Darius was trained by his father - first and foremost in the ways of the lute, but also in the way of the sword. As a child, Darius had listened wide-eyed and eager as his father recounted stories of his travels, and wished to follow in his bardic footsteps. His mother had also hoped to teach him enchanting, hoping he would carry on her business, but he found the process boring. So eventually she tried to teach him more interesting schools of magic that she was also well-versed in - illusion and alteration - in order to ease him into it. He had taken to those magical teachings with interest, but had seen his mother's attempts for what they were and still had no desire to become an enchanter. Still, he would be able to put the spells to good use. After all, traveling was often dangerous, and even while performing at an inn you ran the risk of an unexpected bar brawl breaking out, or an unappreciative rough crowd deciding they don't like your act. When he was an adult, he began to go and perform at taverns on his own, and like his father before him he was very good. After three years, he eventually grew tired of performing for the exact same people every day, and he hated having to frequently learn and master brand new songs just so his audience woudn't get bored. He remembered his father's old stories of traveling the land and playing to a wide variety of people, and decided to follow in his footsteps. When he told his parents, his father was proud and his mother was both reluctant and disappointed, but eventually she too agreed. So, for three more years Darius would travel across Cyrodil, stopping in the various cities and villages to play at taverns for a few days, before moving on. It was not quite the lifestyle he had envisioned and idealized, but at the same time he had not hated it either. Every now and then he came across the occasional bandit encounter, but thanks to some competent swordfighting and clever use of magic, he usually came out mostly unscathed and with his belongings intact. Eventually, tales from the north began to trickle their way down south. Tales of the legendary Dragonborn... the Slayer of Alduin, Hero of the Skyrim Civil War, vanquisher of the Volkihar, and Savior of Solstheim. Darius had always considered writing his own songs, but could never find the words. Now he realized he could find no better inspiration than in his father's homeland, especially during such a chaotic time period - maybe he could even visit the Bard's College? So he resolved to make his way north. Unfortunately, most of the heroic battles and events had already taken place. They were over and done with. The Dragonborn? Disappeared. No more grand conflicts or world-shattering threats. What was there to write about that wasn't being written about already? Still, it was a new land, a new people, and a new culture. Perhaps he could stay and learn more about it, and take in the unfamiliar sights and culture. Perhaps... he could even embark on his own adventures, and write songs of his own exploits. He was, after all, a decent fighter with magical talent. Why not? Skills: Major: -Speech. He is a shrewd haggler, skilled diplomat, and an inspiring speaker. -Musician. He is an excellent lute player and has a wonderful singing voice. Minor: -Swordplay. He can hold his own in a fight. Understands some basic Calm, Fury, Fear, and Courage spells, and uses them to diffuse confrontations, sow chaos amongst his enemies, or motivate his allies. -Alteration.
