She heard a bit of a commotion but kept her eyes forward now as she continued to walk. Whatever was happening, there was no gun fire so she would stay on target and do her job unless otherwise informed by Ash. Glancing back to Kris she nodded and gave the girl a look. It wasn't harsh, just neutral. "Good to meet you. And yes, if you could be my guide around here for a bit. Captain Holloway was going to but I believe he has other matters to tend to at this moment and I hate putting anything off that could be done right now," she said calmly. "So do you prefer to go by Kristina or Kris?" she asked as she continued to walk through the field. Kristina looked over her shoulder as she could hear some of the commotion that was going on, she assumed it was the others grieving still over that James was leaving. But she wasn't sure what it was going on over there, but she had a feeling that she would get some information on what was going on later on today. Her attention quickly went back towards Thana as she spoke to her, and gave her a slight smile she was slightly nervous aside from what she had learned yesterday she still didn't know her that well. "Of course, I guess we should start with the livestock." Kristina said as she started to make her way towards the stables and pens. "Everyone usually calls me Kris, if that's easier for you." "Alright Kris," Thana said as she turned and walked next to her as they made their way over to livestock. That was not her specialty but she figured it couldn't hurt to take a look. Seemed she would need to talk to Ash about who knew what around here so she could better organize her team for maximum efficiency. She then opened the door to the stables, before speaking once more. "We have eight hogs, six female two male, thirty chickens, three roosters, one dairy cow, and one bull, numerous Guinea pigs and rabbits. We also have six horses, War, Famine, Pestilence, Death, Edgar and Cadence." Kris stated as she walked down the pens looking at the ones that were in the building. Thana stopped her in tracks and quirked a brow as Kris listed off the horses. Running them through her head: War, Famine, Pestilence, Death, Edgar, Cadence? Cocking her head to the side she looked at Kris. "That is an interesting set of names. We have the four horsemen of the apocalypse and then 2 others. Do I even want to know how those names came into play?" she asked with a slight smirk curling at the corner of her mouth. Kristina turned around to look at Thana and smiled slightly and shrugged slightly, the four horsemen were there way before she joined up with Newnan. "Personally I'd give the four horsemen a different name, but that was long before I came here. Cadence and Edgar were owned by two women, Bridget and Astrid they gave them their names but sadly they were killed a few months ago while on a run to get some injured from the Franklin settlement." Kristina answered, as she turned around and started to head out of the stables. "I'll take you over to the storehouse now where we keep the seedlings." Walking out of the stables in turn, Thana kept pace with Kristina. She'd have to ask Ash about the four horsemen later and see where those names came from. The word that there was a another settlement got her interest more focused though. There was another settlement around here? Maybe James would head there with Gavin. "So there is another settlement you all work with around here?" she asked as they headed over towards the storehouse. Kristina closed the door to the stables, before continuing on her way over towards the storehouse looking over her shoulder and then nodded slightly. "Well not really at the time they were a separate community, before Franklin was integrated a few months ago they have their own section of Newnan." Kris said as she made it towards the storehouse and opened the door up for Thana, looking at the various bags of seed, pickled and stapled. "I see, any reason they are kept in a different area of town?" Thana asked, wondering why they would have their own section of Newnan. Though thinking on it, she figured it had been for safety purposes. Integrating a single person was hard enough, an entire community sounded like it would be nearly impossible. "In here we have corn, peanuts, red beans, sweet potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, vidalia onions, carrots. We have cotton, but that's on low supply currently, strawberry rootlings and strawberry seeds." She said as she pointed out to them where they were located, before continuing down the list. "We also have okra, asparagus, green onions in the greenhouse, we have dill seeds, winter squash seeds, and cabbage seeds." Stepping into the store room, Thana took a look around. Her hands running along the shelves. Some items looked okay but others looked like they were a bit weaker than she would have liked yet she figured that was because of the cold snap. Some stores were low but she had been told about a green house, she hoped that what wasn't here was there getting some needed warmth. Reaching over to the wall she took down the clip board and flipped through the pages. "So, what have your duties mainly been under Grady?" Kristina leaned up slightly against one of the shelves and watched as Thana inspected what they had in stock, seeing that some of them were rather low on supply, and others weren't looking as good as they should be. When she asked what Kris' usual duties were while James was in command over agriculture. "I usually tended to the animals, making sure that they are fed, stalls changed and cleaned and some general care as well as putting the animal waist into the compost pile." She ran a hand through her hair that's what she mainly did when working with the livestock before. "As for the crops, weed pulling, watering, planting, harvesting when they are ripe enough to be picked." Kristina answered. Placing the clip board back, Thana nodded a bit as she turned back to Kris. Sounds like you don't have a problem getting your hands dirty," she said and there with the smallest twinkle of approval in her eyes. Adjusting her cap and slipping off her coat with due to the climbing temperature of the air she draped it over her arm. "Well why don't you tell me which jobs you actually enjoy and what you would like to learn while you show me the greenhouse. We can stop by the medical garden last." Stepping out of the building she glanced around and noted that the crowd had cleared from the gate while they had been walking around and talking. Whatever had happened earlier seemed to have been taken care of. She half wondered where Ash had gotten off to as she motioned for Kris to show her the way. "Before all this happened, I probably would have complained both my father was a farmer and my sister stayed home with my dad when my parents got divorced, but I do enjoy it now." Kristina said as she started to head out of the storehouse and started to make her way across towards the greenhouse. She looked over Kris also noticed that almost everyone else had gone off to do their duties. Kristina then started to take off her jacket as well tying it around her waist. Kristina thought about what else she could do, aside from tending to the crops and the livestock she wasn't sure really. Nodding a bit Thana continued to walk, passed the inner gate and towards the grassy knoll where the green house was. "Funny how things change," the Lt. commander said in passing. "I'd like to probably learn helping out in the medical garden, I don't know much about medical stuff but tending to the plants probably isn't that much different from crops out in the field right? Or tending to the horses more, since the ones who owned Edgar and Cadence are both gone." Kristina answered, she was then at the greenhouse and opened it up to let Thana in first. "I see, do you have more of an interest in live stock or..." she said as she stepped up to the greenhouse and peered inside. "Plants?" she finally finished as she stepped inside and took a look at what all was in there. Seemed whoever had been taking care of the seedling had been doing a decent enough job at it. There was room for improvement and while they were not thriving they were alive and growing. Kristina took a step inside as she watched Thana inspecting the plants that were in the greenhouse and thought for a moment, she was more of an animal person growing up. "I grew up more tending to animals when I visited my dad it was easier for me and I always did like playing with them." Kristina answered, she had tended to the greenhouse as well when she was told to work there looking at the growing plants. "So what do you think needs improvement?"
