"..." Name Evangelica Cavalli Nickname/Alias Eva Age 18 Gender Female Race Demon Weapon Appearance A petite young woman, Eva Cavalli is about 165 cm, and weighs in at a mere 50 kg. She often sports a blue windbreaker and shorts, along with a rather prominent scarf. She is otherwise rather nondescript. Personality Cavalli is a young lady of very few, if any, words. She is extremely anti-social, and straight out refuses to interact properly with anyone at all, choosing instead to coldly stare down any who attempt to speak to her. If she needs to communicate with someone, she will approach them herself. She doesn’t need anyone to do that for her. Her anti-social behaviour is not borne out of some childish shyness or embarrassment of talking with others. She just doesn’t want to, and doesn’t bother to. It’s as simple as that. In the same vein, Cavalli may come off initially as a complete, and irredeemable asshole. Once anyone gets to know her better, they will also know that she genuinely is a complete and irredeemable asshole. She will not go out of her way to help others, and in fact, may not even help someone even if they ARE in her way. However, if they were directly impeding her progress, then she might reconsider, as long as there is no other option available. In short, unless she gets something out of it, good deeds are not game for her. She finds people with potential and ability to kill fascinating, and often picks up obsessing over them. While fairly mild, it is still quite disconcerting to have her usually be at one's side, watching them, observing their every move. She tends towards behaving less like her usual self around her current Meister as a result. She is not, however, without restraint or morals, no matter how limited they may be. Though cruel, she never really pursues anyone with killing intent unless they absolutely deserve the highest form of punishment available. She has abandoned contracts on a whim and, under her own discretion, turned against clients when a job seems too...distasteful for her. In an act of pure neutrality, while she doesn’t go out of her way to help another, she also doesn’t deliberately go out of her way to hurt others. That, however, is no indication of her lack of empathy for human life. She fully understands that sacrifices have to be made in combat, and is very willing to throw aside others for victory, no matter how pyrrhic it may be. Conversely, however, she also exhibits self-destructive behaviour, in that if she has to sacrifice herself for the victory of her allies, she will. Both hers and others' lives are worth little to her. Perhaps this is why she doesn't seem very intent on being 'friends' with allies. In the occasions she speaks, she does so in monosyllabic words and clipped, abbreviated sentences. Her Meister would actually be more likely to hear her communicate more eloquently, but only in their mind, and not outwardly, but even then, she provides only strategic suggestions and expositional lectures. To this day, she has never given out a single letter of information about where she came from, who she is, or what exactly she does. Likes Knives The thrill of a hunt Night time Kurono Dislikes Noise Children Noisy children Peanuts Boredom Fears Nothing, literally. Backstory People die, that was the truth of things. Humans, witches, Weapons, so long as there was a Soul within them, they will one day die. The Cavalli family understood this better than most. After all, they were the ones that brought that end upon many, and several of them experienced the same end in pursuit of their marks. Some Cavallis would die of old age without ever having to experience that sour taste on their tongues with an empty seat next to them, once occupied by a partner, a sibling, or, heavens forbid, a friend or a lover. Those were the lucky ones. Evangelica Cavalli rolled her snake eyes early. The young Cavalli was a prodigy of the art that her family near perfected. From the time that she could walk and hold a knife properly, she was taught just how to kill efficiently, as well as how to cripple a foe for life with three simple cuts. She never complained. In fact, she almost enjoyed it. Perhaps it simply had to do with just how well her instructors and parents treated her. It was simple, they reasoned. Tough training, not tough treatment bore better results. And as an endpoint, the Cavalli family had a daughter that was not just an artist with the knife, but one who liked being one. She made her first kill at 13. It was a screw-up, as far as she was concerned. Her original ambush missed an important jugular, allowing the mark to stumble away, wounded, and dying, but still alive. She had to waste the effort to skewer his leg, tripping him over, and cut out his tendons to stop him from flailing all over, before finally drawing the knife across his neck. Her parents and instructors were proud, acknowledging her skill, but yet, she felt unhappy. The struggling felt messy, imperfect, unprofessional. That, and the hesitation behind her first strike. For a short moment before she landed the first blow, she saw the fear in the mark’s eyes, and she faltered. Never again, she thought to herself. She steeled her heart, readied her knife, and continued to pursue her dream. Her efficiency rose, and her kills became cleaner, but yet, she still felt unfulfilled. She felt as if a part was missing. Something just didn’t click with her. She was doing everything properly, she was almost perfect with her art, but yet it just seemed so hollow, standing over a lifeless body. To this day, she still wonders why, searching for an answer to her emptiness. The kill was exhilarating, a rush of blood and emotions, but the aftermath just couldn’t feel any less fulfilling. Then came the internal strife of the Cavalli family. The patriarch of the main family was assassinated by one of their own, an expression of their disdain for their leader taken form in the most grim manner possible. It was clear what had to be done. Traitors to the Cavalli family had to be punished. The civil war that erupted within the ranks of the Cavalli brought forth Evangelica’s pure cold-heartedness to the spotlight. Friends, family, allies that once stood alongside her, and cousins who ate at the same table as she did, she killed them all. Perhaps there was a glimmer of sympathy for them in her- those that were confirmed to be her kills suffered little, having been dealt lethal blows that left them little time to feel the pain. Perhaps, or it was just her brand of efficiency that she prioritized. Eva Cavalli, as Eva Cavalli does, did not acknowledge nor deny either truths. Instead, she pondered over just why she felt so much more alive when she duelled her family members to the death. The sight of determination, belief in their cause, grim emotions set in stone on their faces brought a chilling feeling of excitement. Evangelica later enrolled as a NOT student in DWMA at 16, though was quickly pushed to EAT, much to her own chagrin. She has since been partnered with a member of the now-extinct Star Clan, whom she genuinely expresses a bit of interest in, mostly due to his lineage and his almost similar modus operandi in combat. Partner Name Kurono Hoshi Weapon Form Sniper Rifle Weapon Form Description Miscellaneous Abilities/Skills ★Soul Hunter: When resonating with a Meister, she is able to tap into their natural Soul Perception ability and lock onto a specific soul. During a lock-on, unless her Meister loses sight of their target, every bullet she fires will pursue the target with unfaltering power until it is completely destroyed, blocked, or hits the target. ★Soul Conversation: When around her Meister, she can communicate with them telepathically, though this requires rather close proximity. ●Ninja: Quick and stealthy, she can be almost anywhere at a single time, and no one would notice her until she actually made herself known. She is notorious for her ability to appear out of nowhere and then wander off before anyone notices that she is gone. Athletic ability comes with this, par the course. ●Killer: She has an intimate knowledge of vital parts of the body, and where to aim for for lethal blows, or, if she prefers, a crippling one. ●Knife-fighting: A goddamned talented one at that, to the point where it makes her a dangerous opponent even without a Meister. The sheer damage she can inflict with a single switchblade cannot be underestimated. Soul Resonance This can be filled out once your partner is done. Extra ●Cavalli is ambidextrous. ●Cavalli is allergic to peanuts. ●Cavalli has a strange inability to appear properly on photos, being either always just slightly out of frame or blocked by someone. In any case, only half her face tends to be photographed. She claims she doesn't do this on purpose.
