Hunched over and frail is the typical physical state Wendell Shaw keeps himself in, though in the recent days his doctor has ordered him to take a few minutes out of the day to exercise. Sedentary lifestyles aren't the healthiest, but if he's skipped a few runs here and there, his doctor doesn't need to know about it. Still, Wendell has bad posture and not a lot of meat on his bones despite his best efforts. Days without sleep and nutrition have taken their toll, coloring him in a grayish pall with heavy bags beneath his eyes.

He keeps up a ruffled, likely slept-in style with messy, curled hair in dark shades of brunette and wrinkled, likely never ironed clothing. Typically, he wears contacts, but on occasion he'll break out a pair of thick-rimmed glasses. All-in-all, Wendell is unimposing, on the short side of 5'4", and looks as if he'll feint any second.

Wendell shuts himself down and out. In a world full of mysteries, Wendell prefers to keep anything and everything personal a mystery himself. Professionalism runs through his veins like hot oil, searing through him should he ever take a step out of the realm of civility. It cultivates a neurotic mess of a person who handles social conduct outside of his job with very little tact, much less need or want for it. Work concerns him far more than people do and he'd much prefer it stay that way.

Only in certain instances does his life conduct itself outside of his research, his teaching, or anything therein: when something concerns his daughter and when something concerns his family. Friends are a non-issue, as he doesn't have any nor the will to keep up a working relationship. He finds them difficult and tedious, especially when having to juggle a relationship with family and his daughter, to boot. Society exhausts him, but he'll do what he can for his family, as long as they don't force him out of his own comfort zone. 

Anxiety ridden and agoraphobic, Wendell is a complete shut in, as well as a workaholic with no real penchant for telling time. He'll find himself buried in studies and research for more hours than he should, with as little sleep as he can muster. Adding onto a job teaching adjunk at a local University, while adding to the research required of him there, it strains him to be on time, as well as to comfortably talk to his students. But, it pays the bills and the closer he finds himself to another steady job that lacks the horrors of required student-teacher relations the more courage he can muster to go trudge into work.
