Cocky, overly-confident and somewhat of a kleptomaniac, Pietro Maximoff is often quick to act and impatient due to his enhanced speed and being three steps ahead of everyone else. Pietro has also displayed a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor. Though nothing will ever stop him from loving his 80's music.

Pietro Maximoff was born in 1999. He was the result of an affair between his mother and the mutant now known to the world as Magneto, and he has a twin sister named Wanda, who becomes known as the Scarlet Witch.

He grew up without knowing who his father was, only that he was a man who could control metal. After an incident when he was a teenager involving him easily outrunning anyone on the school track team, Pietro and his sister learned that they were mutants, and each one of them had different abilities. When they were 16 years old, their father came back to them, and offered them a place with him in the Brotherhood of Mutants.

The two quickly became one of the few people that Magneto could truly trust (second only to Mystique). Pietro worked closely with his sister, and the pair were very close, even when they went off on missions. That all change when they went to the Hanson Power Plant, and Pietro turned his back on the Brotherhood, as well as his family, by joining the X-Men.
