"No, we can go on." Dolly smiled at her hero. "I really like that you did this." 
She trampeled with excitement and gave Nick a hug. 

He was just like in the comics. Doing something incredibly nice to someone without even asking for something in return. Dolly would go to ponder for hours on what to reward such a grand hero with. But before that all happened, the rest of this glorious mansion he lived in was to still be explored. And he was asking her for help! The duchess had a few interesting twists to her mind. Though Dolores never seemed to be all that invested in her thoughts by displaying her recklessness. Every room the pair entered made her widen her eyes. 

"Wow, what is all this?" Dolly merely assumed everything that was not explained to her in great detail to be a dangerous weapon, well camouflaged and hidden in plain sight. After all, only heroes like her and Nick could recognise them for what they really were. 
As dangerous as they were considered to be, a little sniff never hurt anything. Whenever something did not smell like chicken, she'd regard it as "recognisable danger". This may have caused her to never step on rugs and try to only step on shadows. Not always succesful, but she really tried.
