November 30, 5:35 AM Beedles apartment, Coast City [@Ceta de Cloyes] Jessie awoke again with another start, as the obnoxious donkey noises she had just set up as her text alert went off, ensuring she would wake up if Ezra texted her again. Damn, that was loud. She fumbled with the phone, standing up from the chair she had fallen asleep in and accidentally sending it crashing to the floor. Jessie winced at the combination of loud sounds, if her parents weren't awake before they likely were now... The sleep-robbed girl glared at her phone angrily before checking the text message, processing the information within. It seemed plausible on the surface, but... If it wasn't bad enough for him to need even a little support, how would Ezra know if it was contagious? Actually, who could have even caught a bug from him, besides herself. Jessie was pretty sure she was the only one Ezra spent much time with. Combined with the evidence of a picture message, and the general suspiciousness of 5 in the morning, Jessie wasn't convinced. Knock knock knock. Came a sound of Jessie's door. The girl turned to hear her mothers muffled voice coming through the door, laced with concern. "Jessie honey, are you okay? I heard some noise and you're never up this early..." "Yeah mom, I'm fine!" Jessie called out, rubbing her eyes in exasperation as she searched for some clean clothes to throw on. She was up now, and it'd be stupid to try and get back to sleep. Jessie paused for a moment as she looked at the open text field on her phone, weighing her options. "Um... Hey mom, Ezra just texted me; you know the guy from the gym? He's not feeling well and..." Jessie sighed, she was committed now... "Uh, do you think we can make some macaroni and cheese and I'll bring it to him later? I don't know that he has much in the way of real food..." A long, pregnant pause from the other side of the door, though Jessie could hear her mothers shuffling feet. "Well... Of course we can, Jessie." She said, sounding genuinely surprised. "I'll get started on it after breakfast, that way you should be able to get it to him before lunch." The sound of footsteps as Jessie's mom began to move away from the door, before suddenly turning and coming back. "One more thing Honey..." Jessie groaned, rolling her eyes. She was sure her mom was about to make her watch the store now... "Yes mom?" "I... I'm proud of you, taking care of your friend like this." Jessie paused for a moment, blinking in surprise as she sat down on her bed slowly. She heard her mother shuffle away and she smiled slightly. Of course she knew her parents were proud of her, she was freaking awesome after all. But... She rarely got to hear it. The approval was nice. And now she wanted to make sure she'd earned it. Jessie opened her phone back up and wrote out a response to Ezra. "Alright loser, here's the plan. I'm bringing you some homemade macaroni and cheese. I'll leave it outside your door if I have to, but I don't want to leave you to the horrors of instant noodles + head cold. Gimmie your address and it'll be ready for you by noon." Of course, Jessie had no intention of just leaving it outside his door, but nobody had to know that yet...
