Yeah. I know what you meant. As a general rule of thumb though, I try to steer clear of translating directly to other languages, because of situations like these. While I knew what you meant, being a native English speaker, it might not have came across right to a native German speaker.

Normally I just stick to, "Danke dir", for, "Thank you". Otherwise a statement could be ambiguous at best, insulting, or misleading at worst.
