His left cheek has a small scar, where an Eldar pirate had nicked Brigan in the face with a jagged blade. While his armor and uniform are standard Elysian, Brigan has taken to outfitting his gear with various pouches and clips to carry the shotgun rounds and grenades the Departmento Munitorum has allotted him.[/i]

[i]Eager to leap into battle both in a literal and figurative sense, Brigan could be used as the Imperium's poster child for the Imperial Guard. Whether he volunteers or not, Brigan is there to lead the charge on the front lines. While this is more than likely to get himself killed, Brigan would still desire to be the first one to leap from the trenches (or in Elysia's case, a Valkyrie) or to kick in a door to clear a building of potential targets. Brigan wishes to serve the God-Emperor as well as he can, and in his own words, the best way to do so is by being first onto the battlefield. The specialist only hopes that his courage inspires those of his regiment, lest they all fail the God-Emperor himself.[/i]

[i]Born to parents in the administrative section of a factory, Brigan had a well-off childhood. However, while this meant that Brigan was never familiar with the struggles many Imperial citizens experience, he still found his lifestyle dull. A young Brigan craved action and adventure, and having been born in a family busy tallying production quotas meant that there was none to be seen. There was never ganger on ganger action or battles against the Imperium's foes to be experienced. Such a lack of excitement had led to Brigan joining the Elysian PDF upon coming of age--a decision that his parents disagreed with, but ultimately accepted.

As Elysia is often afflicted by pirates targeting Imperial commerce, Brigan's tour of duty was one with some combat. The majority of his battles were against the Eldar scum, where his trusty shotgun had exploded the heads and guts of many xenos that sought to exploit merchant vessels. On one occasion, however, Brigan had ended in quite the pickle, where an Eldar had managed to gain the advantage over him and leave a nasty scar on his cheek. Nevertheless, this disadvantage was soon short-lived, and Brigan shoved the end of shotgun into the Eldar's stomach, blasting a gaping hole through his body that had slain the filthy xenos.

Eventually, Brigan's tour of duty within the PDF was over, but he wasn't quite done spending his time on the battlefield. Having accomplished his tour of duty, Brigan was allowed to join the elite, all-volunteer Elysian units. Soon learning how to handle the grav-chute alongside many other survival skills necessary for tactical insertion behind enemy ranks, Brigan had became a full-fledged Imperial guardsman. Brigan then saw more combat against heretics on Stiri III as part of the 37th Elysians. However, significant casualties drew the regiment away from the front until they were replenished, which by then Brigan had been sent elsewhere, to quell a rebellion on an important hive world known as Cecilia's Rest.[/i]
