A normal person probably would have assumed that he wasn't coming back. And yet, Fumika was still sitting out on the back veranda of the cafeteria. She could have just as easily left. After all, she'd long since finished eating, and, in fact, she probably should have departed. After all, cooking class was next on her schedule, and it would be starting any minute... But she didn't think about any of those things. After all, Yoshida had said to "excuse him for a moment." "For a moment" implied that his departure would only be temporary, right? That meant he had basically asked her to stay there. He had said he was willing to be her friend. It would be mean to leave one's friend behind. If she left, she'd be being mean. But she wasn't supposed to miss class, either, especially on the first day... She was supposed to do her best, otherwise she might not succeed at becoming a hero. If she didn't become a hero, Haruka would be disappointed in her. In that case, what was she supposed to do? Her blue eyes darted between the entrance and the table in front of her as she weighed her options. No matter what, she didn't want to disappoint either Yoshida or Haruka... But she'd have to choose between her goal and her new friend, anyway? There clearly wasn't any right answer to be found. This was why, above all else, Fumika hated having to choose for herself.
