So far the only nonmammal that is canon are the Ravens who will be a nomadic race of opportunistic traders who drift about the world on floating rookeries.

The norm for noncannon species is that they must be based on a real mammal species and have a good write up that fits into the world.  If it helps consider it to be the same as the difference between a casual and advanced submission.  We'll also probably only allow one unique as we want the more common species to appear in the group.
