It was like a train wreck- he just couldn’t peel his gaze away despite the terror he felt in watching her fingers slid into her own wound. The taste of bile rising in his throat with a sickening lurch of his stomach. He couldn’t edge back any further though, his feet kept slipping in the mud but for a moment he was hopeful she had forgotten all about him but then… she called him out on the necklace and he looked at it with wide eyes before shooting his gaze back to her. “I-” Oh god, he was terrified. What was she? And before he could say anything else she was collapsing in the mud, and… and… screaming. “Stop!” He clasped his hands over his ears, the chain of the necklace tangled around his fingers as his reality rattled itself apart. He didn’t understand what was going on but this couldn’t be happening. Shouldn’t be happening. “STOP!”
