Korvig was a protegee of Admiral Murdoch, the founder of the Federation. When Murdoch retired, Korvig succeeded him as president, winning a majority vote against his opponents. Korvig has pledged to be a stout representative of the Federation, and has steered the Federation as being less of an arm of the corporations and its own, independent military entity.

Though often criticized as being too reckless, she is renown for getting her payload to its destination in the most challenging of conditions. Apate headed IT for Imperial Logistics and was considered a prodigy in the field of computer engineering. After experiencing a psychotic break in an inebriated state from Insectoid cerebral spinal fluid, or juice, Apate left Earth and was arrested after selling corporate secrets to rogue prospectors. After serving three years in the Navy, Apate turned mercenary, and joined the Federation. While relatively new to the Federation her hacking skills are unquestioned, though she does have a record of insubordination.
