The [i]belief[/i] in races as a concept is not inherently racist. The [i]prejudice or discrimination[/i], or [i]belief in superiority of[/i], for a particular race is defined as [url=https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/racism]racism[/url]. There are [url=http://www.dictionary.com/browse/racism?s=t]other[/url] variations of [url=http://www.thefreedictionary.com/racism]this[/url] understanding, but none of them include that incarnation of it. Reasonably, as it is in reality, just because one acknowledges other races exist does not immediately make that person a racist. If you extrapolated that mindset and tried applying it elsewhere, seeing different breeds of dog would make you "breedist" against them.
